New Destination
A recent Assocham study reveals a shift in preferences for Indian students. The United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom are no longer the top choices. The report "New Overseas Destination for Indian Students" shows that Germany, Canada, Singapore, Norway, Malaysia, Philippines, and China are emerging as strong contenders.
These new destinations offer a tough challenge. Factors like lower fees and living costs, global experiences, and internship opportunities are key. While student visits to these countries have increased by 15-20 percent, numbers for the US and UK are declining.
One reason is the economic slowdown in the US, which has reduced job opportunities. The UK has also tightened its visa laws.
