The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2020. This exam is the gateway for admission to engineering seats across India. A total of 24 candidates achieved a perfect 100 percentile score.
Results are available on the official JEE Main website: jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Delhi-NCR Leads with Top Scorers Five of the 24 candidates who scored 100 percentile are from the Delhi-NCR region. They are Chirag Falor, Gurkirat Singh, Lakshya Gupta, Nishant Aggarwal, and Tushar Sethi. Interestingly, the number of perfect scorers remains the same as in JEE Main 2019, which also had 24 candidates at the 100 percentile.
Regionally, Telangana produced eight top scorers. Rajasthan had four, Andhra Pradesh had three, and Haryana had two. One candidate each from Gujarat and Maharashtra also secured 100 percentile marks.
Understanding the Counseling Process The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will manage the seat allocation process. Counseling will begin with two mock rounds. These are crucial for candidates to gauge their likely seat allotment based on their rank and filled preferences.
Following the mock rounds, seven official counseling rounds will be conducted. Seat allotment will be finalized based on the options candidates submit on the official JoSAA website: josaa.nic.in.
Exam and Advanced Eligibility The JEE Main examination was conducted from September 1 to 6. Out of 8.58 lakh registered candidates, approximately 74 percent appeared for the test. This exam is for admission to engineering institutes funded by IITs, NITs, and the Central Government.
Based on the best scores from JEE Main Exam sessions, the top 2.45 lakh students will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam. JEE Advanced is scheduled for September 27. Success in JEE Advanced is mandatory for securing admission into the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
