The main purpose of advertising is to provide information about a brand or product. Producers and service providers reach customers through advertising. Choice of Two Types of Careers
There are two types of jobs available in the advertising industry: creative and executive.
Creative Jobs
Copywriters are responsible for the content used for slogans on electronic media, print media, billboards, posters, and banners. This is a creative job profile. After this, you can reach the position of Art Director, who is responsible for the entire visual effects including text and messages. Then there is a Creative Director, who approves the proposed advertisement. Only after receiving approval from the Creative Director is the advertisement sent to the client for final approval before going live. For TV advertisements, you coordinate with your producer and other artists.
You also have the option of being a graphic designer, who creates advertising design according to the client's needs. This is also a creative profile, and you work with the team until the final product is made.
Executive Jobs
Due to tremendous competition, advertising has become a necessity for companies. This has increased possibilities for glamorous careers in advertising. The special feature is that advertising is not only taken in the field of business. People working in politics, religion, social service, and NGOs also get help from advertising.
There is no limitation on salaries for those who work in advertising. Experts believe that if you have the ability and passion to work in this creative field, you can reach the summit of success very soon. In short, careers in advertising are a great option.
Courses and Career in Advertisement
You need to take a certain course to enter the ad field. Advertising companies hire professionals for their separate departments. If you have a degree or diploma in any of these fields, along with a strong grip on language and creativity, you can make yourself successful.
You can obtain a BBA, MBA, or postgraduate diploma in Customer Service, Marketing, Media-Journalism, or Mass Communication. You can also go for an MBA, CA, ICWA, or MBA (Finance). Audio-Visual Courses and Film Production Courses, such as pre-press processing and printing, are other options.
With a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts or Graphic Design, it is easy to have a career in graphic designing. A degree in visual communication can also help. To do these courses, you should have 50 percent marks in the 12th grade for an undergraduate course. For a postgraduate course, you should have 50% marks in graduation. Admission to all such courses is done on the basis of an exam.

Media Planning
Work in media consists of the media planner. This department decides which medium is most suitable to communicate to customers. They make these decisions with the account planner and creative team. They also advise various advertising agencies.
Accounts Planning
This department focuses on the advertisement budget. They decide which media shall be beneficial and which part of the budget shall be spent on it, after discussion with the creative team.
Client Servicing
The work of this department is to make a bridge between the client and the creative team. They handle how the client needs to be advertised and where they can get more benefit.
