For students seeking admission to Agriculture courses in Indian universities, the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) conducts the All India Entrance Examination for Admission to Under Graduation (AIEEA UG) annually. ICAR runs three exams: AIEEA UG, AIEEA PG, and ACE JRF SRF PGS. This article focuses on the UG entrance exam. Eligibility for ICAR AIEEA UG
The eligibility criteria for admission into undergraduate programs through the AIEEE UG are:
- Only Indian citizens completing 17 years of age on 31st August of the exam year can apply.
- Applicants must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and any one of the following subjects: Biology/ Mathematics/ Agriculture/Home Science.
- Students appearing for their qualifying examination (10+2) in the current year are also eligible.
- For GEN, UPS (Under Privileged State), and OBC categories, minimum aggregate marks should be 50% (40% for SC/ST/PC).
- Applicants who passed +2 with Agriculture but not Physics and Chemistry are eligible for admission in some universities in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand.

ICAR AIEEA UG 2026 Application Form
Forms are available on ICAR's official site. Fill all details with caution. Applications may be rejected for wrong or invalid information. Candidates must upload a color passport-size photo, thumb impression (left for male / right for female), and signature. Take a printout of the confirmation page.
Applicants should send a hard copy of the application to the New Delhi Office only by Speed-Post or Registered post.
Application Fee
The application fee is paid via credit card, debit card, or net banking. For General and OBC applicants, the fee is Rs 700/-. For SC/ST/PH applicants, it is Rs. 350/-.
How to Fill AIEEA UG 2026 Application Form
Read all information on the official website or brochure before proceeding. The form is filled online, but a hardcopy must also be sent offline to the New Delhi office.
Follow these steps:
- Open the official ICAR website and select the New Registration button.
- Choose your course preference (UG or PG).
- Fill in all required details: Personal, Qualification, Communication, and Subject group.
- Recheck all details, then proceed to the payment page.
- Enter your card details and click 'Pay Now' to pay the fee.
- Take a printout of the application form for future use.
- Write the declaration in your own handwriting on a half white A4 sheet as handwriting proof.
- Send the hard copy of the application form, the printout of the computer-generated confirmation page, and the fee payment proof via Speed post / Registered Post to:

ICAR AIEEA UG 2026 Admit Card
The admit card is available online on the official website. It is mandatory to bring it on exam day. No entry is allowed without it. The copy should be self-attested, have a pasted photo of the applicant, a signature, and a thumb impression in the provided space.
If there is a problem downloading the admit card, candidates can contact the Nodal Officer of the City Center examination at least two days prior to the exam date.
ICAR AIEEA UG Result
The ICAR AIEEE Result is published on the ICAR website. Copies are also displayed at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Agricultural Research Bhavan-2, Pusa, New Delhi. The results provide the overall merit-rank and category rank for counseling. No separate information is sent to candidates personally.
The category-wise final qualifying list for counseling is prepared based on the reservation category given by the candidate in the OMR answer sheet.
Counseling process of ICAR AIEEA
Based on the published overall merit-rank, candidates are allotted a specific degree program in an agricultural university. Admission is done through an online counseling process according to seat availability and the candidate's rank and choice.
After admission or counseling, any change in subject/university or transfer/migration is not considered. If any documents submitted by the candidate are found to be fake or forged at any stage, the admission will be canceled, and the candidate will be liable for legal action.
ICAR AIEEA UG Syllabus
The examination syllabus is provided in the official information brochure. To score well, study all subjects in your chosen course. The syllabus typically includes Physics (20 units), Chemistry (35 units), Biology (9 units), Math (10 units), and Agriculture (4 units). Applicants can download the information brochure from the official website.
ICAR AIEEA UG Exam Pattern
- Duration: 2½ hours.
- Language: Bilingual (English and Hindi).
- Subjects: The question paper includes five topics: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and Agriculture. Candidates must choose only three subjects.
- Questions: 60 multiple-choice questions per subject, with four options each. Candidates attempt 180 questions total.
- Maximum Marks: 720.
- Marking Scheme: +4 marks for each correct response.
- Negative Marking: -1 mark for every wrong answer. If a candidate marks more than one answer for a question, it is considered wrong and attracts negative marking.
