UPSEE, or the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Exam, is a state-level examination organized by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). It's conducted annually to provide admission to eligible candidates into various undergraduate and postgraduate professional degree courses in engineering, technology, management, pharmacy, and other fields at affiliated colleges and institutes.
Previously known as the UPTU entrance exam, UPSEE is for candidates seeking admission to B.Tech, B.Pharma, B.Arch, Bachelor in Design, Hotel Management, MCA, MBA, and other programs in Uttar Pradesh institutions.
The UPSEE 2026 examination is scheduled for 21st April. Interested and eligible candidates can fill out the application form online, which typically becomes available in January.
Eligibility for UPSEE 2026
All Indian citizens who meet the minimum educational criteria for their chosen course can apply online. Appearing candidates are also eligible. NRI/Foreign Nationals/PIO/Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries/Kashmiri Migrants can apply as well. There is no upper age limit. An Aadhaar card is mandatory for application.

UPSEE 2026 Application Form
Applicants can download and fill the form only from the official website. Online registration usually commences in the first week of January and continues until the last week of February.
During form filling, you must upload scanned images of your latest color photograph, left-hand thumb impression, and signature. There is no need to send a printed copy of the confirmation page to the university. Keep a printout for your own reference.
Application Fee:
- Rs. 1200 for Male/Transgender candidates of General & OBC categories.
- Rs. 600 for Female/Physically Handicapped candidates of all categories & SC/ST category.
Payment can be made via credit/debit card or Net Banking.
How to Apply for UPSEE 2026
- Visit the official UPSEE website.
- Fill in the online registration form with basic details to receive a unique registration number and password.
- Log in using these credentials to access the main application form.
- Enter all personal and educational details correctly.
- Upload scanned images of your signature, thumb impression, and photograph as per specifications.
- Pay the application fee.
- Take a printout of the "confirmation page" for future reference.
Do not send any hard copies to the university. A form correction facility will be available for a limited time after submission.
Admit Card
Eligible applicants can download their admit card from the official website a few days before the exam. Print it out, paste a colored passport-size photograph as per guidelines, and carry it to the examination center.
Examination Pattern of UPSEE 2026
UPSEE is conducted in Offline (OMR-based) and Online (Computer-Based) modes across 11 different papers.
- Papers 1, 2, 3, and 4 are OMR-based tests.
- Papers 5 through 11 are Computer-Based Tests.
- Each correct answer carries 4 marks. There is no negative marking.
- The exam is conducted in English and Hindi.

Syllabus
The UPSEE syllabus varies for each paper. For B.Tech, it is based on 12th-standard Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The pharmacy paper covers Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from class 12. The detailed syllabus is published on the official website.
Answer Key and Result
The official answer key is released online a few days after the exam. Candidates can raise objections if they find discrepancies.
