If you're looking at AKIDO College of Engineering (ACE) in Bahadurgarh, you're likely weighing one major factor: cost. At roughly ₹65,000-75,000 per year for a B.Tech, it's one of the most affordable private engineering options in the Delhi-NCR region. But that affordability comes with significant trade-offs, particularly around placements and campus life. The college, established in 2008 and affiliated with Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) Rohtak, often finds itself in a confusing identity web with the IITM Janakpuri campus. Many students report enrolling through the Delhi office only to receive a degree stamped from the Bahadurgarh campus—a point of frequent contention online. It's a classic case of getting what you pay for, and understanding the reality behind the marketing is crucial.

Courses and Academic Programs at AKIDO College of Engineering

The academic offering is standard for a smaller private college. B.Tech programs in Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, and Electronics & Communication Engineering each have an intake of 60 students. Information Technology has shown zero intake in recent years, suggesting it might be discontinued. Beyond engineering, the college runs BBA and BCA programs with sizable intakes, plus M.Tech specializations and diploma courses.

Academically, it follows the MDU Rohtak calendar and grading system. The faculty count sits around 34, and while the website lists qualified professors, student sentiment tells a different story. Reviews consistently point to high turnover, with many lecturers being junior-level and some departing mid-session. That creates a patchy learning environment. The academic culture is described as lenient, especially on attendance—a double-edged sword that offers flexibility but requires immense self-discipline from the student.

AKIDO College of Engineering Placements: Packages, Companies & Reality Check

This is where the gap between brochure and reality widens considerably. The college's official placement claims—80%+ placement rates and packages up to 10-12 LPA—are met with deep skepticism by students and alumni. The consensus from platforms like Shiksha and Reddit paints a grimmer picture.

The working average package for on-campus roles is between 3.2 and 4.5 LPA, with a median closer to 3 LPA. The highest packages cited (5-6 LPA) are typically the result of aggressive off-campus efforts, not college-driven placements. Placement percentages are a major point of contention. While the college claims 80%, students estimate the true figure for core engineering roles is between 30-40%. Many graduates end up in BPO, tech support, or sales roles. Top recruiters visiting campus are the usual mass IT recruiters: TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, and HCL. The advice from current students is blunt: if you join, assume you are on your own for placements and start preparing for off-campus drives from day one.

Fees and Financial Aid at AKIDO College of Engineering

The low fee structure is AKIDO's most compelling attribute. For the 2024-25 session, the total annual cost for a B.Tech is estimated at ₹65,000 to ₹75,000, which includes tuition, a development fund, and other university charges. Over four years, you're looking at roughly ₹2.8 to ₹3.2 lakhs, excluding hostel fees.

Hostel fees add another ₹50,000 to ₹70,000 per year for non-AC accommodation, with AC options going up to ₹1.2 lakhs. Students do report occasional "hidden charges" for development or university fees that weren't clearly outlined during admission, so it's wise to get a detailed, itemized fee breakdown in writing.

The college offers merit-based scholarships on tuition fees for high achievers in Class 12: 100% concession for 95%+, 60% for 90-95%, and 30% for 85-90%. These can make an already affordable option even more so.

Admissions: Eligibility, Cutoffs & Selection Process

Admission to the B.Tech programs is primarily through Haryana state counseling (HSTES) based on JEE Main scores. The 2024 closing ranks for the General All India category give a clear sense of the college's positioning: Computer Science Engineering closed around rank 1,093,203, Electronics & Communication around 298,286, and Civil Engineering around 899,044. These are not competitive ranks, indicating ample seat availability.

Direct admission under the management quota is also available for students with 45-50% in Physics, Maths, and Chemistry/Computer Science in their 12th grade, typically with an application fee of ₹1,000. This pathway is often how students with lower scores or those seeking last-minute admission enter.

Campus, Hostels and Student Life

The 11-acre campus in Bahadurgarh is functional but basic. Students describe it as a single main block, not a sprawling campus. Labs for various engineering departments exist but are frequently cited as having dated or sometimes non-functional equipment. The library has around 5,000 physical books, with limited digital access. While the campus is Wi-Fi enabled, students complain that usable access is inconsistent at best.

Hostel quality gets a mediocre 2.5/5 in reviews, with complaints about average food and infrastructure. A bus service connects the campus to parts of Delhi-NCR, which is essential given the location. Lowa Khurd is a rural setting, limiting social life and exposure. There's little in the way of a vibrant campus culture with fests or active clubs. For many students linked to the IITM Janakpuri administrative office, their classroom experience is in Delhi, which they report as having better, air-conditioned facilities—but their degree and official campus remain Bahadurgarh.

Student Reviews: What AKIDO College of Engineering Alumni Really Think

Synthesizing feedback from CollegeDunia, Shiksha, Reddit, and Quora reveals a stark, unified voice. The positives are narrow: extreme affordability and lenient attendance policies.

The negatives are expansive and repeated. Placement promises are the biggest sore point, with one review summarizing it as "a dream that never comes true." Faculty turnover is high, leading to instructional inconsistency. Many feel misled by the IITM Janakpuri connection, expecting an IP University degree only to get an MDU degree from a Bahadurgarh college they may never have visited. The management is criticized for opaque communication, especially on fees. Verbatim, the advice is often brutal: "Stay miles away from this college. They ask students to give 5-star reviews on Google for internal marks," and "If you have no other option and just need a degree for the sake of it, then join. Otherwise, look elsewhere."

Verdict: Is AKIDO College of Engineering Worth It?

AKIDO College of Engineering serves a very specific, budget-conscious student. It's worth considering only if your primary goal is to obtain a valid, AICTE-approved B.Tech degree at the absolute lowest possible private college cost in NCR, and you have no other admits. You must be prepared to take complete ownership of your education—self-studying for concepts, aggressively pursuing off-campus internships and placements, and tolerating a no-frills, remote campus environment with limited faculty support.

For anyone with slightly better JEE Main ranks or a higher budget, there are more stable options with better track records in Haryana and the region. If you are aiming for robust campus placements, a dynamic peer group, or strong research opportunities, you should almost certainly look elsewhere. AKIDO is a last-resort institution for degree seekers, not a launchpad for engineering careers.
