Scholarship routes at IIM Kashipur
IIM Kashipur’s current MBA page describes two broad routes for MBA participants: institute-sponsored scholarships and Government of India scholarship schemes. The page names the support available, but it does not publish a complete current-cycle eligibility matrix, application calendar or award amount for each student. Treat the scheme list as a starting point, then confirm the conditions for the exact programme and batch before building a budget.
For the flagship MBA, the institute lists three sponsored categories: Need-based Scholarship, Merit-based Scholarship and Need-cum-Merit Scholarship. Separately, it lists four Government of India schemes for MBA participants. These are different application routes. The page does not say that one award automatically makes a student eligible for another, or that every listed scheme is open to every participant.
Institute-sponsored support for MBA participants
The MBA page says that 10% of MBA participants receive a full yearly tuition waiver through the Need-based, Merit-based or Need-cum-Merit Scholarship categories. This is the published headline description of the institute-sponsored support. The page does not provide an individual applicant’s chance of selection, the detailed family-income or academic thresholds, the renewal conditions, or a rupee value for the waiver. It also does not state on that page whether the 10% is calculated separately for each year or across the participant group.
Because the waiver is described as tuition support, do not count it as a waiver of hostel, mess, travel or other living expenses unless the current batch policy explicitly says so. The MBA page’s fee schedule and its scholarship statement are separate items; do not subtract a guessed amount from a future batch’s total cost. Ask the Admission Office which tuition heads are covered, when an application is submitted, what documents are needed and whether the support continues into the next academic year.
Government of India schemes listed for the MBA
The MBA page lists these Government of India scholarship routes for participants:
The institute’s list identifies routes; it does not establish that a student qualifies or that a particular amount will be awarded. Scheme names, category rules, income limits, required documents, funding ceilings and deadlines can change under the administering authority. Check the current Government notice and IIM Kashipur’s instructions for the correct academic year. Ask whether the institute first verifies applications or whether applicants must also submit through a government portal, and keep both submission confirmations if both steps are required.
MBA (Analytics) and historical award counts
IIM Kashipur’s MBA (Analytics) admission page for the 2026-28 batch describes a full yearly tuition-fee waiver for 10% of both the first-year and second-year batches. It names Need-based, Merit-based and Need-cum-Merit-based scholarships. This is the wording shown in that programme’s admission material; confirm that the same terms apply to the intake you are considering. Do not use the MBA page’s general 10% statement as a substitute for the Analytics page’s batch-specific wording, or assume that a 2026-28 application date still applies.
The institute’s 2024-25 annual report records 44 MBA students and 22 MBA (Analytics) students receiving scholarships during that year. It says MBA support was awarded under need-based, merit-based and need-cum-merit categories. These are historical recipient counts, not a current intake quota or a percentage of the batch: the report does not give the denominator alongside those two counts in the cited passage. Keep the two programmes separate when using the totals, and do not project them to 2027-28.
Before you plan around an award
Start with the current admission page for your programme, then open each scheme’s current official notice. Confirm the applicable batch, eligibility, documents, application route, deadline, renewal rules and whether the award is a tuition waiver or a payment toward another cost. Save the dated notices and any application acknowledgment. If the institute or government page uses different terms, ask which instruction controls for that batch before relying on a verbal estimate.
IIM Kashipur’s MBA page lists the Admission Office email as [email protected] and gives a telephone contact of +91-7900444090, extensions 324, 327 or 335. Use the official website to check that these details remain current. Unless the institute confirms an award in writing, prepare a fee plan that assumes no scholarship and treat any later support as a possible reduction rather than guaranteed funding.
When you contact the office, include the programme name and admission year in your question. Ask for the written scholarship policy, the application form or portal, the documents required, and the dates for both application and renewal. If you also apply for a Government of India award, ask how the institute handles overlap with an institute-sponsored waiver and whether both awards may be held together. These answers can affect the net amount due, so keep the reply with your fee notices and loan planning.
