IIMS Pune Admission 2027–29: Current Status and Application Steps
International Institute of Management Studies (IIMS), Pune, lists an admissions-open banner for the 2027–29 batch, but its detailed How to Apply page still carries a 2026 application deadline. As of 5 November 2026, that listed 31 January 2026 date has passed. The official contact page therefore supports the claim that the institute is promoting the 2027–29 batch, while the application page does not yet establish its current deadline or a complete, updated process. Do not reuse the expired date as a 2027–29 deadline.
Before paying or submitting an application, ask the admissions office for the 2027–29 prospectus and written confirmation of the active programme list, form deadline, accepted entrance-test scorecards, interview schedule, application charge and final-year document deadline. The public pages reviewed here do not settle those cycle-specific details. A banner is a useful lead, but it does not replace a dated application notice.
The institute's published application flow is online application, document verification, an email invitation for a personal interview, two interview rounds, a selection letter and payment of a confirmation amount. Treat this as the process described on the available How to Apply page, not as a guarantee that the 2027–29 dates or steps have been refreshed. Confirm whether the same process and confirmation amount apply to your chosen programme and intake.
IIMS Pune programmes and the intake figures on its site
The admissions page presents four two-year PGDM options: the main PGDM described as NBA-accredited and AIU-recognised, plus PGDM options in Retail and E-Commerce, Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI), and Agribusiness Management (ABM). The same page's 2026–28 intake figures are 180 for the main PGDM and 60 each for Retail, BFSI and ABM. Those are programme-specific figures for the 2026–28 cohort. They are not a verified seat count for 2027–29, so confirm both programme availability and intake before selecting an option.
IIMS is in Nere Dattawadi, Pune, near Hinjewadi IT Park. Applicants comparing the options should first check the programme name printed on the current application form; similar specialisation names in older approval documents do not by themselves prove a programme is open in the new cycle. The institute's 2025–26 AICTE approval is historical regulatory evidence, not confirmation of an approval or intake for 2027–28. Use the current prospectus or a written admissions response for that decision.
The public admissions page does not provide a current programme-wise selection threshold or a 2027–29 intake table. Do not infer that the main PGDM capacity can be split among the specialisations, or that an earlier year's intake will remain unchanged. Ask whether applications are accepted separately for each programme and whether applicants may change their preference after submitting the form.
Eligibility and entrance-test scorecards
IIMS's How to Apply page says applicants should hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks or the stated equivalent. It also says candidates awaiting final-year results may apply. The applicant remains responsible for meeting the institute's completion and document requirements; the page reviewed does not give a current 2027–29 date for submitting final results. Confirm the required format for marks, CGPA conversion and completion proof before applying if your degree is still in progress.
The entrance-test instructions on the same page are not fully consistent. One part names XAT, CAT, CMAT, MAT and MHCET as tests candidates must have appeared for. Its scorecard instructions name MAT, CAT, CMAT and ATMA instead. CAT, CMAT and MAT appear in both lists, but the mismatch means an applicant should not assume that XAT, MHCET or ATMA will be accepted for the 2027–29 intake without confirmation. Ask which tests, test years and score-report formats are valid for your specific programme and batch.
The public page does not provide an exam-wise minimum percentile, a previous-year cutoff, or a test score that guarantees an interview. A statement that candidates must have appeared for a named test is not a published cutoff. This page therefore combines the entrance-test and cutoff questions: verify the accepted test and ask whether a minimum score applies, instead of treating an old or third-party cutoff as an IIMS requirement.
Selection stages and what to confirm before applying
The selection breakdown shown by IIMS assigns 40% to the entrance test, 35% to group discussion and personal interview, 15% to academic record, and 10% to sports, cultural activities, NCC or NSS. The page also describes two interview rounds after document verification and an email invitation. These are the weightings and steps stated on the available institute page. IIMS has not supplied a current-cycle scoring sheet in the reviewed material, so confirm whether the same weights apply in 2027–29 and how the 10% extracurricular component is evidenced and assessed.
Use this short verification list before submitting:
- Confirm that the application form is for the 2027–29 batch and your selected PGDM option.
- Get the active deadline and interview dates in writing; the 31 January 2026 date on the detailed page has expired.
- Ask which entrance exams and test years are accepted, and whether an exam-wise minimum score applies.
- If you are in your final year, confirm when the degree and final marksheets must be supplied.
- Ask how the interview rounds are scheduled, what documents are required for verification, and whether the stated selection weights have changed.
- Confirm the application charge and the amount and due date for accepting an offer; the pages reviewed do not establish current amounts or dates.
Use the IIMS contact page to reach the institute and retain the written response with your application records. If you receive conflicting instructions, ask the admissions office to identify the current batch-specific prospectus or notice that governs your case. This is especially important for the entrance-test list: the same public page names different tests in its general instructions and scorecard section.
