What JAGSoM currently says about scholarships
JAGSoM’s admissions page is headed “Admissions Open for 2027–29”. It says ₹5 crore has been made available through the Padode Foundation Super Scholar initiative for high-potential students, based on competitive test scores, and gives a merit-list closing month of December 2026. The same page names four scholarship labels: Padode Foundation, Dean’s, EWS and Extra-curricular Excellence. These are the current published headline terms for applicants to investigate. The ₹5 crore figure is a pool, not an individual award or a promise that every eligible student receives funding. The page does not state how many students share it, the award range, how scores are ranked, or whether the December list applies to every category. JAGSoM admissions and scholarships
That page presents both a Bengaluru PGDM and a Greater Mumbai MBA. It does not say whether the pool or each named scholarship is available to both routes, whether the award value differs by campus, or whether the same selection rules apply. Confirm the exact programme, campus and 2027–29 intake in writing before treating a scholarship as part of your funding plan.
The detailed award table is for an earlier intake
A separate JAGSoM admission-process page is explicitly headed “Eligibility and Admission Process 2026” and gives a July 2026 commencement date. Its scholarship table is more specific, but its score thresholds refer to CAT 2025 and XAT 2026. It describes merit awards for students with at least 60% aggregate in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation, with listed amounts of ₹2,00,000 for 85 percentile or above, ₹1,50,000 for 80–84.99, ₹75,000 for 70–79.99 and ₹60,000 for 60–69.99. The table says scorecards and academic records support the merit application. Those are dated 2026 criteria, not confirmed 2027–29 cut-offs. JAGSoM 2026 admission process and scholarship table
The same 2026 table lists ₹1,50,000 for each of four other categories: EWS, sports excellence, children of military personnel and differently abled candidates. The published EWS condition is annual family income below ₹8 lakh and at least 70% in graduation; it names an income certificate and family income-tax returns as supporting documents. Sports applicants are described as having represented at state or national level and having at least 60% in graduation, with academic and sports certificates. The military category is for children of active or retired military personnel, with at least 65% in graduation and service or retirement proof. The differently abled category gives a 60% graduation minimum and asks for a disability certificate under government norms.
The 2026 page says awards are for the first academic year, adjusted against the final fee instalment, and renewable subject to academic performance, co-curricular participation and overall conduct. These details can help you frame questions, but the current 2027–29 page does not confirm that the same amounts, categories, thresholds, documents or renewal conditions continue. Its current labels also differ: it names Dean’s and Extra-curricular Excellence awards, while the detailed 2026 table names sports and military categories. Do not assume that one label replaces another or that the earlier list is exhaustive for the new intake.
What to verify before using an award in your budget
Ask JAGSoM whether the 2027–29 ₹5 crore pool covers the Bengaluru PGDM, the Greater Mumbai MBA, or both. Request the current award schedule showing individual award amounts or ranges, the number of awards, score basis and any academic-percentage conditions. The page’s phrase “based on competitive test scores” does not identify the accepted score tests or a minimum score for scholarship consideration. The admission rules and scholarship rules need not be identical, so do not infer that a test accepted for admission automatically qualifies for this award.
For each category, ask which academic records and certificates are required, how percentages are calculated across boards or universities, whether provisional documents are accepted, and who may certify income, disability or service status. The 2026 table gives example documents for its dated categories, but applicants should get the 2027–29 checklist and confirm any category not explained on the current page. Ask whether the merit-list closing date of December 2026 is a hard deadline, whether applications are considered in rounds, and when a decision is communicated relative to fee instalments.
Treat the award as uncertain until it is confirmed
The current page establishes a sizeable advertised pool and a December 2026 merit-list date, but it does not publish an individual award guarantee or complete current rules. The older table gives useful historical context, not a safe basis for subtracting ₹60,000, ₹1.5 lakh or ₹2 lakh from your expected cost in the 2027–29 cycle. JAGSoM’s fee page lists programme costs separately; request a written scholarship decision that names your exact award and whether it is adjusted against a particular instalment. Until then, compare the full stated programme fee and treat any scholarship as possible assistance rather than assured funding.
When contacting admissions, include your chosen programme and campus, admission cycle, test and score, academic percentages, and the category you are asking about. Ask for the current application link, deadline, supporting documents, award range, renewal criteria, decision date and fee-adjustment timing. Keep the reply with the dated fee schedule and offer letter. This makes it possible to compare the actual payable amount and timing without confusing the total scholarship pool with an individual benefit.
