BBA LLB fees: compare the full cost for your campus
Why one course-wide fee is misleading
There is no single fee for BBA LLB. The payable amount depends on the university, campus, programme title, admission year and student category. A prospectus may show tuition only, or combine tuition with other compulsory charges; hostel, mess, transport, books and personal expenses may appear separately. A fee for BBA LLB (Hons.) at one campus cannot be used as the price of a non-honours course at another campus or as a generic national estimate.
Compare the same billing period and cost components. Write down annual or semester tuition, admission charges, examination and student-service fees, refundable deposits, hostel and mess charges, and any course-specific laboratory or activity fee. Identify which amounts recur and which are one-time. Do not multiply a first-semester total across the full degree unless the institution confirms that the later semesters use the same rates and no annual revision applies.
Read the institution’s fee document carefully
Use the fee schedule for the exact intake year and programme. Check its date, campus, domestic or international category, payment instalments, taxes, scholarship conditions, refund policy and deadline. Confirm whether a quoted “total” includes hostel, food, insurance, examination fees and refundable security. A fee page may link a separate hostel schedule or explain that other charges are revised independently; preserve those distinctions when building a personal budget.
Symbiosis Law School Pune’s official BBA LLB programme page lists fee structure as a dedicated part of its programme information, alongside programme structure, credits and assessment. The page has programme-specific detail, so students should use the live schedule and current admission material for the selected campus and cohort rather than transferring a figure across Symbiosis law schools. The SLAT registration fee is a separate application expense and is not tuition: its 2027 registration page lists ₹2,550 per chosen test date and ₹1,000 per selected programme, with applicable government taxes additional. Build an apples-to-apples comparison
Create one row per offer and separate the costs by timing:
Ask whether the published schedule is a per-student amount or a refundable security payment, and whether the university revises tuition between the first and later years. A useful comparison totals only known compulsory charges, keeps variable housing costs separate and labels any estimate as an estimate. If one institution publishes an annual tuition figure and another publishes a semester bill with additional charges, convert neither until each billing period and component is clear. The comparison should show what a family must pay at admission, what recurs, and what may be returned after graduation or withdrawal.
For a five-year course, total cost planning requires the current official payment schedule for every year or an explicit statement of how later years are calculated. Include a realistic allowance for travel, books, devices, meals and living costs, but keep these estimates distinct from the university’s fee. If fees can rise, model scenarios rather than presenting one forecast as guaranteed.
Scholarships, refunds and financial risk
Check whether scholarships are merit-based, need-based, category-based or limited to particular programmes. Read the grade, attendance and continuation conditions and identify whether the award reduces tuition, hostel charges or only a particular component. Do not count a scholarship as certain until it has been awarded in writing. Ask whether financial support is available for all years or must be renewed each term.
Refund rules matter when an applicant accepts a seat while waiting for another result. Find the institution’s withdrawal deadline, deduction formula, required notice method and expected refund timeline. Application and entrance fees may be non-refundable even when a student does not join. Symbiosis’ SLAT 2027 page describes its exam and programme registration fees as non-refundable and non-transferable; this is a test-registration rule, not the tuition refund policy for every law school. Questions to ask before paying
Request the exact current schedule for your programme, campus and category. Ask what must be paid to accept the offer, which later charges are compulsory, how rates change by year, whether a deposit is refundable, and which costs are excluded from the published total. If a page contains an older schedule, ask for the newly issued document instead of extrapolating the previous year. Save the fee notice and receipts with the admission offer.
The right comparison is not simply “lowest tuition.” Consider total compulsory cost, housing, commuting, scholarship certainty, payment timing and the curriculum or practical resources included. Keep each amount tied to its source, period and programme. If an institution has not published an applicable fee, mark it as unavailable and obtain written confirmation; do not fill the gap with an estimate from an unrelated BBA LLB campus.
