Result Declared on 24 April 2026; Scorecards Now Live
On 24 April 2026, the National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results of the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate Programmes (CUET PG 2026). The computer-based test, held between 6 March and 30 March 2026 across 50 shifts, covered 157 subjects and registered 4,11,366 unique candidates. Of these, 3,45,220 candidates appeared. The result and individual scorecards can be downloaded from the official portal at exams.nta.nic.in/cuet-pg/.
The scorecard, valid only for the academic year 2026-27, will be used by 198 participating universities—45 central, 40 state government, 24 government institutions, and 89 deemed/private universities—to prepare their own merit lists and conduct counselling. No centralised counselling will be held; each institution handles its admission process independently.

CUET PG 2026 Exam at a Glance
The examination was conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode on 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 27, 29, and 30 March 2026. A total of 50 shifts accommodated 157 question paper codes for subjects ranging from sciences, humanities, and commerce to languages, Acharya papers, and professional topics. The medium was bilingual (English and Hindi) for most papers, except language papers (in the respective language), M.Tech/Higher Sciences papers (English only), and Acharya papers (primarily Sanskrit).
Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme
Each paper lasted 90 minutes and contained 75 multiple-choice questions. The marking scheme is as follows:
- Correct answer: +4 marks
- Incorrect answer: –1 mark (negative marking)
- Unattempted question: 0 marks
The paper structure for most subjects is purely domain-specific; no separate general aptitude section is included for the majority of papers. Candidates could apply for a maximum of four test papers. PwBD candidates were granted compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour.

Answer Key Challenge and Result Processing
The provisional answer keys and recorded responses were hosted from 11 April to 14 April 2026. Candidates could challenge any answer by paying a non-refundable fee of ₹200 per question. Expert panels verified the challenges, and the final answer keys were used to compute results. No grievance against the final answer keys will be entertained after the result declaration.
What Happens Next: Admission and Counselling
There is no centralised counselling for CUET PG 2026. Each participating university will release its own merit list and counselling schedule based on CUET scores, programme-specific eligibility, and institution-specific admission policies. Candidates must regularly check the websites of the universities where they seek admission. The scorecard is only valid for the academic year 2026-27.
