The exam pattern for Paper 1 and Paper 2 is detailed below.
For JEE Main Paper 1:
- Course: Paper 1 is for admission to B.Tech courses.
- Examination method: The exam is conducted in both online and offline modes.
- Duration: 3 hours.
- Types of questions: Multiple choice questions.
- Number of questions: 90 questions in total.
- Marks: The paper is worth 360 marks.
- Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- Marking scheme: 4 marks are awarded for each correct answer.
- Negative Marking: 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
For JEE Main Paper 2:
- Course: Paper 2 is for admission to B.Arch / B.Planning courses.
- Method of examination: Conducted in offline mode only.
- Duration: 3 hours.
- Types of questions: Multiple choice questions in Mathematics and the Aptitude Test. Subjective questions are asked in the drawing section.
- Number of questions: 30 in Mathematics, 50 in the Aptitude Test, and 2 drawing questions.
- Marks: The paper is worth 390 marks.
- Marking scheme: 4 marks are awarded for each correct answer.
- Negative Marking: 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
