New education policy will give new direction to 21st century India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the new National Education Policy (NEP) is the medium for the fulfilment of new India, new expectations, and new requirements. The leaders of this journey are the country's teachers.
He made these remarks while addressing a conference on 'Schooling in the 21st Century' under the National Education Policy - 2020. The new education policy, he said, has laid the seeds for the creation of a new era. It will give new direction to 21st century India.
Since the NEP's announcement, many people have questions. What is this policy? How is it different? What will change in schools and colleges? The Prime Minister explained that the NEP focuses on children, emphasizing exploration, activities, and learning in recreational ways.
Modi noted that every region and system in the world has changed over the last three decades. Hardly any aspect of our lives remains the same. Yet, our education system-the path on which society moves towards the future-was still running on the old pattern.
Principals and teachers are now participating enthusiastically in the campaign to implement the National Education Policy. A few days ago, the Ministry of Education sought suggestions from teachers across the country on the 'MyGov' portal. More than 15 lakh suggestions were received within a week.
For too long, a marks and marksheet-based system dominated our country. Now, we must increase easy and innovative methods in education. The core of the new phase of study for children should be participation, discovery, experience, expression, and excellence.
