Admission in B Ed
Last updated: April 20, 2026

Join a B.Ed program to become a teacher for nursery, primary, and higher secondary schools.
What is B.Ed?
Several courses exist for aspiring teachers at the Intermediate, Graduation, and Post Graduation levels. The most important is the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This course is very popular among youth entering the teaching profession. It was previously a one-year program, but from 2015 onward, it became a two-year course. Admission typically requires passing an entrance exam. You must be a graduate to be eligible.
Many private colleges offer direct admission without an entrance test. However, colleges that enroll through a formal entrance process are often more beneficial. Entrance tests for B.Ed courses are conducted annually. State-level exams in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra are common. Courses from IGNOU, Kashi Vidyapeeth, Banaras Hindu University, and Delhi University are also highly regarded.
After completing the B.Ed, candidates become qualified to teach at primary, upper primary, and high school levels.
Career Prospects After B.Ed
New opportunities in education have opened doors for students and created diverse opportunities for teachers. Teaching is a highly respected profession in India, and teachers have always held a place of high esteem. This is why many young people aspire to become educators.
Since economic liberalization, numerous vacancies have emerged in private schools. Schools, colleges, and universities are opening in remote areas, with significant capital investment. Consequently, the demand for qualified, trained, and professional teachers in these institutions is rising.
B.Ed from Haryana
If you decide on a teaching career, an education degree is the first requirement. When considering where to earn that degree, Haryana is an excellent option. The state has developed strong infrastructure, methodology, and admission processes in education.
The B.Ed admission process in Haryana is underway. Approximately 60,000 seats across 450 education colleges are available.
