Supreme Court Order to States: Provide basic facilities for online classes within 30 days
Last updated: April 20, 2026

The Supreme Court has directed all state governments to provide necessary infrastructure, stationery, books, and other equipment for online classes to child care institutions within 30 days. The apex court has also ordered states to ensure the required number of teachers are provided for teaching children in these institutions.
News agency ANI shared the information via tweet. The directive is based on recommendations made by District Child Protection Units. The Court has mandated the provision of necessary basic facilities, stationery items, books, and other equipment for the protection of children's homes.
Currently, many states are not conducting online classes in child care institutes and other government schools. Lack of resources is the primary reason. Many schools and child care institutions simply do not have the necessary facilities. Following the Supreme Court's order, students in these institutions should now benefit from access to the required resources.
