The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2019 have been announced. President Ram Nath Kovind announced the NIRF rankings for Indian educational institutions at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Monday. These rankings cover several categories, including the overall top institute, top engineering institute, and top university.
IIT Madras leads the overall category. IISc Bangalore tops the university category.
Now in its fourth year, the NIRF 2019 rankings were released across nine categories: Overall Institute, College of Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Architecture, and Law. This year, more than 4,000 institutions submitted their data for the NIRF ranking. The Ministry of Human Resource Development first announced the NIRF rank in 2016. In 2018, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore was ranked as the top institute in the NIRF overall category.
