All Saints College of Engineering (ASCE) in Bhopal is a study in pragmatic compromise. It’s one of the most affordable private engineering options in the city, a fact that draws students with modest JEE Main ranks. But you trade that low fee for a campus that feels stuck in time, with infrastructure that students bluntly call "ancient" and placements dominated by mass recruiters offering packages around 3 to 3.5 LPA. Think of it as a functional degree-granting institution where your success hinges almost entirely on your own drive to upskill outside the classroom. The college, along with its older sister institution All Saints College of Technology (ASCT), operates as a single entity on a shared campus near the airport, affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV).

Courses and Academic Programs at All Saints College of Engineering

The academic portfolio here is standard for an RGPV-affiliated college. At the undergraduate level, B.Tech programs include Computer Science & Engineering (intake ~120), Mechanical Engineering (~60), Civil Engineering (~60), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (~60), and Electronics & Communication Engineering (~60). That adds up to a total UG intake of roughly 360-420 students per year. Postgraduate options include M.Tech in specializations like Computer Science and Thermal Engineering, as well as an MBA program.

Faculty strength sits around 60-70 members. While there are senior professors with PhDs, the majority are Assistant Professors holding M.Tech degrees. The academic culture is tightly bound to the RGPV calendar and its 10-point CGPA system. Teaching is frequently described as "average" but with a key positive: many students find the faculty approachable and genuinely helpful when it comes to navigating and passing the university's semester exams. It’s a teaching style geared towards securing the degree, not necessarily fostering deep innovation.

All Saints College of Engineering Placements: Packages, Companies & Reality Check

This is where the gap between brochure claims and ground reality is most apparent. The college’s official placement cell might tout figures as high as 18-25 LPA, but those numbers typically include off-campus or pooled drive results. The verified, on-campus reality for recent graduates is different.

The highest on-campus package tends to be in the range of 4.5 to 6 LPA. The average package clusters between 3.0 and 3.5 LPA, with the median for UG programs around 2.52 LPA as of 2023. Placement percentages also get a reality adjustment. While the official claim is 80-90%, student consensus puts the actual on-campus placement rate closer to 60-70%, and that’s heavily skewed towards CSE and EC branches. Students in core branches like Civil or Mechanical often find very few relevant on-campus opportunities.

Recruiters are a familiar list of IT mass recruiters: TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, HCL, and Accenture are the most frequent visitors. About 80% of offers are in IT/software roles, with another 15% in sales or marketing. That’s a decent outcome for the fee, but it underscores that this is a pipeline for entry-level IT jobs, not a hotspot for core engineering or high-tier tech placements.

Fees and Financial Aid at All Saints College of Engineering

The affordability is the central draw. For the 2024-25 academic year, B.Tech tuition fees are between ₹55,000 and ₹60,000 annually. M.Tech is slightly higher at ₹60,000-62,000, and an MBA runs ₹39,000-45,000. These are some of the lowest private engineering fees in Bhopal.

However, additional costs add up. Hostel and mess fees for the non-AC girls' hostel (the primary on-campus option) are ₹40,000-50,000 per year. A significant point of student contention is the bus or transport fee, typically ₹12,000-15,000 annually, which multiple reviews state is often mandatory even for students who don't use the service. Over four years, the total cost including hostel and transport lands in the ballpark of ₹3.5 to ₹4.2 lakhs. Financial aid is primarily through state government post-matric scholarships for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Admissions: Eligibility, Cutoffs & Selection Process

Admission for the B.Tech programs is primarily through the JEE Main score, followed by centralized online counseling conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Madhya Pradesh. For students without a JEE score, there’s a College Level Counseling (CLC) round based on 12th-grade merit, but seats fill quickly.

Cutoffs reflect the college's position in the market. For the 2024 session, students with JEE Main ranks up to 8,00,000 to 10,00,000 could secure seats in lower-demand branches. The Computer Science and Engineering branch, being the most popular, closes at a significantly better rank, generally between 4,00,000 and 6,00,000. The application window usually runs from June to August. You can find the official admission portal and notices on the college website.

Campus, Hostels and Student Life

Expectations need to be managed here. The campus, reportedly between 5-15 acres, is functional but shows its age. Student reviews consistently mention outdated buildings, unpainted walls, and poorly maintained washrooms. Labs are adequate for the RGPV syllabus—CSE labs have updated systems, while mechanical and civil labs are described as functional but aging. The library has a collection of around 23,000 volumes and digital access via the National Digital Library. Wi-Fi is available but spotty, limited mostly to labs and the library.

Hostel life is a split story. The girls' hostel on campus has basic amenities, rated around 2.5/5 by occupants. For boys, on-campus hostel facilities are limited or outsourced; most male students opt for private PGs in nearby areas like Gandhinagar or Lalghati. The canteen gets a poor rating (2/5), known more for snacks like samosa and poha than proper meals. Social and cultural life is quiet, with very few major fests compared to larger Bhopal colleges. The one undeniable advantage is location: being directly opposite the international airport and in Gandhinagar makes it accessible, especially for students from the northern parts of the city.

Student Reviews: What All Saints College of Engineering Alumni Really Think

The student consensus paints a clear, utilitarian picture. The positives are straightforward: it’s seen as strong "value for money" for a private engineering degree, faculty are often supportive on an individual level, and the location is convenient.

But the negatives are just as consistently voiced. Infrastructure maintenance is the biggest gripe. Placement quality, while existent, is considered mediocre with low packages. Administrative staff are frequently called "bureaucratic," and the mandatory bus fee is a perennial complaint. The social scene is nearly non-existent.

Quotes from forums and review sites capture the ethos: "If you want a degree with minimum fees and can study on your own for placements, this is okay." Another adds, "The infrastructure looks like a government building from the 90s. Don't expect a 'high-tech' campus." It’s a pragmatic, unvarnished assessment from the people who’ve lived it.

Verdict: Is All Saints College of Engineering Worth It?

All Saints College of Engineering is a specific solution for a specific problem. It is worth serious consideration if your priority is securing an AICTE-approved, RGPV-affiliated B.Tech degree at the lowest possible private college cost in Bhopal, and your JEE rank limits your options. It’s a platform, not a launchpad. You’ll get a degree and a shot at campus placements with IT mass recruiters, but the onus for landing a good job—through external upskilling, coding practice, and off-campus drives—rests almost entirely on you.

Look elsewhere if you prioritize a vibrant campus life, modern infrastructure, strong core-engineering placements, or a college brand that carries weight. Colleges like LNCT or SIRT in Bhopal offer more on those fronts, but at a significantly higher fee. Ultimately, ASCE is a budget-tier, no-frills engineering college. It delivers on its core promise of an affordable degree, but little more. Your ambition has to fill in the rest of the gaps.
