CET scholarships: confirmed schemes and what to recheck
College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET) has published scholarship notices through its alumni association and the CETA Galaxy Charitable Trust. The latest directly verified notice here is HOPE Plus for 2025–26; its application deadline was 8 December 2025. A separate GEMS notice covered 2024–25, with a ₹10,000 annual award and its own eligibility and renewal conditions. Both dates have passed, so treat these as evidence of earlier schemes, not an open 2027–28 application. Check the current CET or CETAA notice before relying on any amount, eligibility rule or deadline.
The latest verified notice: HOPE Plus 2025–26
CETA Galaxy Charitable Trust’s 24 November 2025 announcement invited first-year B.Tech and B.Arch students to apply for HOPE Plus. It said selection would consider academic performance and family financial situation, and that selected students could receive up to ₹40,000 per year. Applications were due by 8 December 2025. The notice links to a trust-hosted form and a guidance sheet, so the trust is the application contact for that scheme.
The amount is a maximum, not a guaranteed award for every applicant. The announcement does not state a single fixed award for all selected students, number of awards, or a universal income cutoff in the page text. Do not convert “up to ₹40,000” into a promise of ₹40,000 or assume that the 2025–26 form is still accepting submissions. A future notice should confirm which entrant cohorts qualify, how award amounts are set, and whether hostel/day-scholar status changes the amount.
GEMS: an older CETAA notice with explicit conditions
CETAA’s GEMS (Growing Engineers’ Monetary Support) notice for 2024–25 stated an award of ₹10,000 per year. It required an entrance-exam rank not less than 10,000, a rank certificate attested by the staff advisor, and that the applicant not receive another scholarship. The notice also described a ranked selection list, verification of application information and approval by the GEMS management committee. Its online application deadline was 24 January 2025, while the supporting request letter and certificates were due at the CETAA office by 29 January 2025.
Renewal was conditional: the student had to pass all subjects in all semesters and maintain a GPA of at least 7.0 in all semesters at renewal. The notice asked for a progress certificate recommended by the staff advisor and Head of Department. These requirements belong to the 2024–25 notice. They are useful questions to ask if GEMS is announced again, but the older notice does not establish current availability or that the exact same conditions continue.
Do not mix CETAA schemes or programme-specific funding
CETAA describes GEMS as alumni-funded support for economically weaker and meritorious CET students. The association also describes CARE as a one-to-one sponsorship concept that can cover costs such as tuition, special fees, travel, boarding, lodging and study material. That description explains the scheme’s intended design; it is not a current call for applications, award amount or guarantee that a student will receive every listed form of support.
The college and alumni pages also mention HOPE Plus, which is administered by the CETA Galaxy Charitable Trust. Keep each scheme’s sponsor and notice separate: a trust’s eligibility rules do not automatically apply to a CETAA award, and a programme-specific notice for a department or postgraduate course does not establish eligibility for all CET students. The college’s 2023 PG admissions brochure, for example, referred to DTE and E-grantz support for non-GATE candidates in that particular admissions context. It should not be treated as a current undergraduate scholarship rule.
A practical check before applying
Before preparing an application, locate a notice for the correct academic year and confirm that your course and admission year are eligible. Check the application window, selection criteria, award range, renewal tests, required rank or income documents, staff-advisor/HOD attestations, whether another scholarship can be held at the same time, and the actual office or portal receiving the form. Save the notice and submission receipt. If a page links to an external form, verify that the form is still live and belongs to the named CETAA or CETA Galaxy Trust scheme before sharing personal or financial documents.
Do not assume that a central or Kerala government scholarship is administered by CET simply because eligible students may study there. Government schemes have their own rules, portals and deadlines. Applicants should check the responsible government portal and CET’s scholarship office or student-support contact for current institutional procedures; this page does not establish an active government application or a CET-specific fee waiver.
Evidence date and open questions
The directly reviewed CETAA notices establish HOPE Plus 2025–26 and GEMS 2024–25 details. No 2027–28 scholarship notice or application date was verified in this research. The available CARE description is an older programme overview, not a dated current call. Confirm future-cycle availability, funding, eligibility, renewal and contact details from a new official notice before applying.
