DBS scholarships: verify the award, eligibility and renewal terms
DBS Global University’s current MBA admissions page advertises scholarships of up to 90%. “Up to” is a maximum, not a promise that every admitted student receives that reduction. The public page reviewed does not by itself establish the exact score bands, eligible programmes, number of awards, renewal rules or final amount deducted from an individual fee invoice. Applicants should request the current scholarship policy for their exact programme and intake, then compare the written offer with the full fee schedule.
What the current MBA page establishes
The university’s MBA admissions page promotes scholarship support and names CAT, MAT, XAT and CMAT as accepted entrance examinations. The scholarship headline does not establish that each test has the same scholarship formula, or that a score alone guarantees an award. Do not infer a percentage from an older brochure or from another institution’s policy.
Before accepting a scholarship figure, ask the admissions team to state in writing:
- the score or academic criteria and which test sittings count;
- whether the award applies to the chosen MBA programme and intake;
- the rupee amount or percentage and the fee components to which it applies;
- whether it is a one-time concession or continues over later semesters;
- the renewal conditions, including minimum grades, attendance or conduct rules;
- whether it can be combined with another scholarship or concession; and
- what happens to the award if the student withdraws, changes programme or pays after a deadline.
The final offer or invoice should make the amount due clear. A promotional maximum should not be subtracted from the published fee unless the applicant has a confirmed award. For the 2026–28 MBA Business Analytics with SAS schedule, the dated fee document separately lists a ₹10,000 combo scholarship; that is a specific line item in that programme document and should not be treated as the same scheme as the “up to 90%” headline.
A dated fee-sheet discount is not a universal scholarship
The MBA Business Analytics schedule dated 13 March 2026 shows a ₹10,000 combo scholarship. It is evidence of a discount listed for that particular programme schedule, not proof of the conditions for every student or of a general award across DBS programmes. The same schedule itemises tuition and other charges separately. Ask whether a confirmed concession reduces tuition alone or also affects CVA, examination charges, admission fees, day boarding, deposits or accommodation.
For a realistic budget, calculate the payable amount from the current invoice rather than applying a percentage to a headline tuition number. Keep scholarship confirmation separate from the base fee schedule so that a later change in eligibility or renewal does not make the expected cost unclear.
Historical postgraduate scholarship page
An older official page titled “Scholarships for Post Graduate Students” is explicitly marked 2023–24 and lists 15 July 2023 as its last date. That deadline has passed. It is useful only as a record of a previous scholarship cycle; it does not establish an open application window, current eligibility or an award amount for the 2026–28 or 2027–28 intake.
Applicants should not submit sensitive financial or identity documents through a link found only on an expired page. Use the current programme admissions contact or official portal and confirm that the scholarship form belongs to the present cycle. If a representative quotes a scheme based on the old page, request its current written terms and a valid deadline.
Keep programme and institution scope clear
Current official pages use the DBS Global University identity, while older material and this college profile retain the Doon Business School name. The statutory university identity dates from 2024. Scholarship rules can be tied to a particular awarding institution, course and intake; do not assume that a historical college offer or a university-wide promotional statement applies unchanged to every programme.
The current public material reviewed supports an advertised MBA maximum and a dated programme-specific ₹10,000 discount, but does not provide enough information to calculate an applicant’s personal award. No award should be treated as confirmed until the exact programme, amount, duration and renewal conditions appear in a current written communication from the institution.
