Ellenki College of Engineering and Technology sits in that practical middle ground of Hyderabad's engineering landscape. It's not the flashiest name, but for students with mid-range EAMCET ranks who want a decent, affordable JNTUH-affiliated degree—especially in Computer Science—it gets the job done. Established back in 1999, the college gained UGC Autonomous status, which gives it some control over its curriculum. You'll find a 15-acre campus near the Outer Ring Road, a mix of modern labs and aging infrastructure, and a placement story where the official 20 LPA headline number gives way to a more grounded 3.5-4.95 LPA reality for most graduates. It's a college defined by its value proposition, not its prestige.

Courses and Academic Programs at Ellenki College of Engineering and Technology

Ellenki’s academic portfolio is heavily tilted towards computing, which tells you where the demand—and their focus—lies. The B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering has an intake of 240 students, and the newer specializations in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (180 seats) and Data Science (60 seats) soak up another big chunk. That's a clear bet on the IT job market. Core branches like Mechanical, Civil, ECE, and EEE have much smaller intakes of 30 each, which reflects the national trend. They also run M.Tech programs, an MBA, and MCA, plus a sizable diploma (polytechnic) wing.

Academically, the autonomous status means they can tweak the JNTUH syllabus, potentially making it more current. Faculty are described by students as generally helpful and knowledgeable, with most department heads holding PhDs. The teaching style, though, is reported to be fairly traditional. The college has an active Institution Innovation Council (IIC) with a 4.5-star rating, and clubs for AI and Robotics provide outlets beyond the classroom. It's a structured, exam-focused environment with a 75% attendance rule—you're here to get a degree, first and foremost.

Ellenki College of Engineering and Technology Placements: Packages, Companies & Reality Check

This is where you need to separate the brochure from the conversation. The college officially cites a highest package of 20 LPA for the 2024-25 cycle. You'll sometimes see wilder claims on review portals, but those are almost certainly off-campus or unverified. The real story is in the averages. Across education portals like Shiksha and CollegeDunia, the consistent average package figure sits between 3.5 LPA and 4.95 LPA. A median package of 6.04 LPA was reported for 2023, which suggests a decent number of students cluster in that range.

The official placement percentage claim is 95%, but student reviews suggest a more realistic on-campus placement rate is 60-70% for core branches, and higher for CSE. Top recruiters are the usual IT service giants: TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, and Tech Mahindra. Companies like Amazon and Deloitte also visit, likely for the top performers. For Mechanical and Civil, recruiters like Maruti Suzuki and Toshiba show up. The mandatory Campus Recruitment Training (CRT) is generally considered helpful. So, the verdict? You can get a job here, especially in IT. Just don't expect the average to be anywhere near the headline-grabbing 20 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid at Ellenki College of Engineering and Technology

Affordability is Ellenki's strong suit. The annual tuition fee for B.Tech programs ranges from ₹60,000 to ₹1,00,000, depending on the branch and quota (government vs. management). Over four years, the total cost for the degree, including miscellaneous fees, typically falls between ₹3.5 lakhs and ₹5.5 lakhs. That's a fraction of what many private engineering colleges in the region charge. MBA fees are around ₹45,000-50,000 per year, and diploma courses are even more affordable at ₹15,500-20,000.

The hostel situation has been confusing. Some portals state there's no on-campus hostel, but the official stance and other sources list on-campus options. Fees there range from ₹55,000/year for a non-AC four-seater to ₹1,20,000/year for an AC single room. Many students still opt for private PGs in areas like Patancheru or Lingampally. The college doesn't heavily advertise major scholarship schemes, but students can explore state government scholarships based on merit or category.

Admissions: Eligibility, Cutoffs & Selection Process

Admission is entrance-exam driven. For B.Tech, you need a valid rank in TS EAMCET (now called TS EAPCET). For MBA and MCA, it's TS ICET. M.Tech admissions consider GATE or TS PGECET scores, and for diplomas, it's TS POLYCET.

The cutoffs aren't sky-high, which aligns with the college's positioning. For the 2024 general home state category, the closing ranks give a clear picture: CSE filled seats up to a rank around 59,700, CSE (Data Science) up to 70,700, and ECE up to 71,572. Mechanical and Civil engineering seats were available to ranks well over 1 lakh. You can find the official cutoff lists on the TS EAPCET counseling website.

About 30% of seats are under the management quota, which might have different fee structures. The selection process is centralized through the state counseling authorities after you qualify with your entrance rank.

Campus, Hostels and Student Life

The 15-acre campus is often described as peaceful and green, a benefit of being located on the outskirts near the ORR. The flip side is that public transport links are poor; you're reliant on the college's fleet of 20+ buses that cover areas like Kukatpally, Miyapur, and Lingampally.

Infrastructure is a mixed bag. Labs for CSE and its specializations (AI/ML labs) are reported to be well-equipped. The mechanical workshop is decent. The library has over 25,000 books and digital resources. But student reviews consistently point to maintenance issues—things like washrooms and building paint needing more attention. Sports facilities include a large playground for cricket and football with floodlights, and indoor spaces for badminton, chess, and carrom.

Social life is quiet. There's an annual fest, but the atmosphere leans more academic and disciplined than vibrant or "happening." The canteen's food quality gets mixed reviews, a common grievance in many colleges.

Student Reviews: What Ellenki College of Engineering and Technology Alumni Really Think

Scouring reviews on Careers360, Shiksha, and forums gives you a consistent, median consensus. Students who chose Ellenki with clear eyes are generally satisfied. Those expecting a top-tier, all-providing experience are disappointed.

The positives are practical: "Affordable fees" is the most repeated phrase. For the price, getting a JNTUH-affiliated autonomous B.Tech is seen as good value. The "peaceful campus" away from city chaos is a plus for many. The verdict for an average-rank student is often: "Good for a decent degree."

The negatives are equally practical. Beyond infrastructure maintenance, complaints about "money-minded" management pop up, particularly regarding administrative delays. The canteen food is inconsistent. And the placement reality check—the gap between the 20 LPA claim and the 3-4 LPA norm—is a point of contention for some. It's not a college known for a dazzling campus life or brand name, and the students don't pretend it is.

Verdict: Is Ellenki College of Engineering and Technology Worth It?

It depends entirely on your rank, budget, and expectations. If you have a TS EAMCET rank between 40,000 and 80,000 and are looking at Computer Science, Ellenki presents a solid, budget-friendly option to secure a degree from a JNTUH-affiliated autonomous college. You'll get passable infrastructure, okay teaching, and a legitimate shot at an IT job in the 3.5-6 LPA range. That's a decent return on investment.

However, if you're aiming for core engineering branches like Mechanical or Civil, be cautious. The smaller intake and lower placement rates mean you'll need more self-drive. And if a vibrant campus life, top-notch facilities, or a prestigious brand name are priorities, you should probably look elsewhere, even if it costs more. Ellenki’s value is purely functional. It's a pragmatic choice for a pragmatic student.
