Scholarships and financial aid: schemes to check
The sources reviewed do not confirm a current college-funded scholarship, tuition waiver or GKM-specific financial-aid award. That does not rule out a government scheme for an eligible student. Treat the following as routes to verify against the current scheme notice and the college’s exact institution and course records, not as a promise that an MBA student at GKM will receive funding.
Start with the exact institution and course entry
Before applying, search the current National Scholarship Portal (NSP) or Kerala’s eGrantz portal for the scheme, institution and course. The portal must show the correct institution identity and the applicant’s actual programme and study mode. If a course is missing, ask the institution’s scholarship nodal officer whether it has completed the required profile or course validation; the Ministry’s PM-USP FAQ says a missing course can mean the institution has not updated its profile. Do not substitute a similarly named college or assume that a University affiliation automatically makes every programme eligible under every scheme.
PM-USP Central Sector Scholarship: an undergraduate-first route
The Ministry of Education’s 2025-26 PM-USP CSSS FAQ describes a merit-cum-means scholarship. For a fresh application in that cycle, it required a student to be in the top 20th percentile of the relevant Class XII board stream, enter the first year of a regular graduation course, have family income up to ₹4.5 lakh a year, and not receive another scholarship or fee reimbursement. A fresh MBA entrant should not assume that this undergraduate entry route applies to them: confirm the current rules and whether any prior scholarship award makes the student eligible for renewal.
The same 2025-26 FAQ lists rates of ₹12,000 a year for the first three undergraduate years and ₹20,000 a year at postgraduate level, subject to the scheme’s selection and renewal conditions. It also describes yearly renewal, minimum marks and attendance requirements. These are dated scheme terms, not a GKM award amount or a current-cycle entitlement. Check the latest official guidelines before budgeting around any figure.
National Scholarship Portal status for 2026-27
The NSP home page identifies Academic Year 2026-27 and says the portal opened from 1 June 2026. It states that One-Time Registration (OTR) is required for applications. On the page reviewed on 1 November 2026, the posted closing date for PM-USP CSSS renewal applications was 31 October 2026, which had already passed; the page listed 15 November for institute verification and 30 November for L2 verification. Those are renewal dates, not a confirmed fresh application window for a new GKM MBA student. Recheck the portal for an extension, correction window or later notice before taking action.
Kerala eGrantz and category-based schemes
Kerala’s eGrantz portal is a state scholarship and scheme entry point. Check its current notices and scheme-specific conditions if you are a Kerala-domiciled applicant who may qualify under a relevant category. The portal’s exact current eligibility, GKM institution mapping, MBA course inclusion and deadlines were not verified in this review. Ask the college’s verified scholarship contact and the responsible government office to confirm those details in writing; do not assume that a state scheme applies solely because the college is in Kerala.
Check whether benefits can be combined
Scholarship rules can restrict simultaneous benefits. The 2025-26 PM-USP FAQ says a fresh applicant must not be receiving another scholarship or fee reimbursement. NSP’s 2026-27 notice says students may apply for one merit-based scheme and one or more welfare-based schemes, subject to each scheme’s eligibility rules. These statements concern different conditions and cycles, so do not combine them into a blanket rule. Read the active scheme guidelines and disclose other aid accurately before submitting an application.
Ask these questions before counting aid in your budget
Request the exact scheme name and current-year notice, whether the college and MBA course are listed and validated, who verifies the application, which category and domicile conditions apply, what fee components are eligible, and whether the award is paid to the student or adjusted against fees. Ask about application and verification dates, required income/category certificates, renewal marks or attendance rules, and any restrictions on receiving other assistance. Confirm whether a scholarship is competitive, quota-limited or subject to a separate selection list. An application or portal listing is not an award.
Keep payments and documents on verified channels
The legacy website linked from the University directory currently redirects to unrelated content; its cause is unknown. Do not use that domain to upload certificates, pay an application charge or share identity or bank details. Use the government portal reached from its official domain and an independently verified University or college contact. Keep your application ID, submitted form, acknowledgment and written clarification from the nodal officer. Until current GKM course eligibility and any award are confirmed, compare tuition using the published or directly verified fee amount without subtracting an assumed scholarship.
