For the 2027-28 MBA decision, IIM Nagpur’s current Fees, Financial Aid & Scholarship page lists institute scholarships, government scholarship links and education-loan information. It does not provide a confirmed scholarship policy for the 2027-29 MBA batch. The institute says the scholarship policy will be released once the academic year begins, so treat the criteria below as the scheme description currently displayed, not as a guaranteed award or final rule for a future intake. Before relying on aid in your budget, obtain the policy for your own batch and confirm its application window, documents, selection method and payment schedule. Check IIM Nagpur’s official scholarship page.
IIM Nagpur’s two listed scholarships
The institute page describes two scholarships for students pursuing its two-year, full-time MBA. The IIM Nagpur Merit Scholarship is listed for the top ten CAT scorers who secure at least the 95th percentile. The IIM Nagpur Need-cum-Merit Scholarship is listed for candidates whose family income is below ₹8 lakh. The page says 20 students will receive scholarships, divided into ten merit and ten need-cum-merit awards. It says the process begins during the first year and is handled internally.
These statements do not explain how “top ten” is calculated, whether the CAT threshold uses overall or section percentiles, how ties are resolved, which income documents are accepted or whether a student can be considered in both categories. The page does not give a separate 2027-29 batch award count or promise that these same terms will apply then. Do not assume that crossing the CAT percentile or income threshold by itself guarantees an award: the institute also describes a limited number of awards and an internal process. Ask the admissions office for the current batch policy and written selection rules.
The institute says selected candidates receive a complete waiver of tuition fees for the two-year programme. It does not state on the page how the waiver is credited across terms, whether it covers any non-tuition charges, how renewal or academic-performance conditions work, or what happens if a scholar withdraws. The official page also says the scholarship policy will be released once the academic year begins. For planning, distinguish the stated tuition waiver from the total cost of attendance: a tuition waiver should not be treated as proof that hostel, meals, deposits, travel or other charges are covered.
IIM Nagpur’s fee page lists a ₹21 lakh programme fee for the 2026-28 batch, but that is historical fee information and the institute’s linked itemised fee PDF was not readable in the earlier check. Do not subtract a hypothetical scholarship from a 2027-29 price that has not been confirmed. First request the fee schedule and scholarship policy for your own batch, then calculate the net amount only from the written terms.
Government and external scholarships
IIM Nagpur’s page also names central schemes for Scheduled Caste students, Scheduled Tribe students, and OBC, EBC and DNT students, along with Maharashtra and other state schemes. It directs students to the National Scholarship Portal for scheme guidelines and cautions that the nature of awards can vary. The list is a starting point, not confirmation that every scheme accepts an IIM Nagpur MBA student in every year. Eligibility may depend on the scheme’s own rules, category, domicile, income, course and application period. Read the issuing department’s current notice and check whether the institute and programme are covered before counting an award as confirmed aid.
The National Scholarship Portal currently displays academic year 2026-27 and says applications are subject to scheme eligibility. That portal year is useful for checking the current cycle, but it does not establish the 2027-28 window or IIM Nagpur-specific eligibility. It also explains that scholarship applications require an OTR. For a future intake, check the relevant scheme listing again and follow the application and institute-verification dates shown for that year. Open the National Scholarship Portal.
The institute page separately records a K. S. Cheema Group and IIM Nagpur partnership award for the two-year full-time MBA in 2024-25, with a total scholarship amount of ₹10 lakh over two years and eligibility aligned to the institute’s need-cum-merit scholarship. This is an explicitly historical award. It does not show that the partnership will continue, that the same amount is available to a 2027-29 batch or that a student can combine it with another award. Treat it as past support unless IIM Nagpur publishes a current notice naming the batch and terms.
Loans are financing, not fee waivers
IIM Nagpur also links bank education loans and the Government of India’s PM-Vidyalaxmi portal. The institute says loan arrangements are between the student and the bank; it provides fee information and a bonafide certificate but does not arrange the loan itself. PM-Vidyalaxmi describes itself as a portal for education-loan applications and interest-subvention applications. A loan can spread the payment over time, but it creates a repayment obligation and is not scholarship income. The institute’s page describes the scheme as offering collateral-free and guarantor-free loans to eligible meritorious students, while the portal makes scheme terms and bank processing relevant. Confirm eligibility, interest, repayment and any applicable subsidy directly with the bank and current scheme rules; do not treat a portal application as loan approval or an award. Visit PM-Vidyalaxmi.
What to verify before accepting an offer
Ask IIM Nagpur for the policy linked to your exact MBA batch and keep the response with your offer documents. Confirm whether the current award count is unchanged; how the merit ranking and CAT percentile are calculated; what income threshold and evidence apply; whether selection is automatic or requires an internal application; when applications open; and whether tuition relief is conditional on grades, conduct or continued enrolment. Ask whether a student can receive more than one institute or government award, how overlapping benefits are handled and when any waiver appears in the fee account. Then compare the written waiver with the confirmed fee schedule, not with an earlier batch’s total.
For government support, read the named scheme notice rather than relying on a college summary. Check the correct academic year, category and domicile conditions, eligible course and institution list, application deadline and verification steps. Keep a separate calculation for a scholarship, a loan and any interest subsidy: they work differently and may have separate application processes. If the 2027-29 policy has not yet been released, leave the award amount and approval status out of your confirmed funding plan until the institute or scheme authority provides written terms.
