Start with the exact IEM campus and intake
The assigned college is Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Kolkata. Its official group pages also discuss University of Engineering & Management (UEM), which is a separate institution, and list several Kolkata and Jaipur locations. Match the programme and campus in the admission notice before paying or accepting a seat. The latest fully described entrance cycle in the captured official sources is 2026-27. They do not yet establish 2027-28 application dates or eligibility. Treat the dates below as historical cycle information, and confirm the next cycle in the official IEM and exam portals before applying.
IEMJEE and IEMCET in the published 2026 cycle
IEM’s IEMJEE 2026 page describes IEMJEE as the group’s B.Tech entrance examination and directs non-B.Tech applicants to IEMCET. The exam portal says IEMJEE serves IEM and UEM B.Tech programmes, while IEMCET serves several non-B.Tech programmes across the group. These pages support the exam distinction, but they do not publish a campus-by-campus seat matrix for every course. For 2026, online exam dates could be selected between 8 December 2025 and 30 May 2026. The IEMJEE page also listed an offline examination on 3 April 2026. Those dates have passed; no future IEMJEE calendar is inferred from them. The portal offered online and offline modes, but the available pages do not establish that every course, campus or applicant can choose both modes.
Requirements vary by course
The official IEM admissions table gives different academic thresholds for different B.Tech groups. For example, the CSE row states 80% in Classes 10 and 12; the CSE (AI) row states 70% in both years and 50% in PCM; the CSE (AI & ML) row states 75% in both years and 50% in PCM; and its combined ECE, Electrical and Mechanical row lists 60% in Classes 10 and 12 and 45% in PCM. The same page contains a separate MBA criteria paragraph and a programme table whose percentage thresholds differ. I have not collapsed those into one rule. MBA applicants should ask the admissions office which current published row applies to their programme and cycle. Complete the steps listed by IEM
IEM’s admissions page lists document verification for newly allotted students, payment for applicants who accept admission, then submission of the documents with an offline admission form. The source does not provide a complete 2027-28 checklist, so confirm which originals, copies, category documents and payment deadlines apply to your offer before travelling. The official page names the Ashram Building at GN-34/2, Sector V, Salt Lake, Kolkata 700091 as an IEM admission office and gives 8010700500 as the admission helpline. It also lists separate UEM locations. Use the IEM contact for the IEM Kolkata assignment, and do not treat a group office address as proof that a course is offered at that campus.
Before opening the application, keep a recent photograph and signature ready in JPEG/PNG and have your Class 10 and 12 mark sheets available; that is the checklist on the 2026 portal. The same FAQ says only personal details can be changed after submission, while the exam date or schedule cannot. Check the selected exam, date, time and venue carefully before submitting, and save the confirmation. WBJEE and JELET do not supply an IEM cutoff here
WBJEEB’s 2026 page describes the statewide WBJEE examination for undergraduate engineering, pharmacy and architecture admissions in West Bengal. Its 2026 registration and exam dates are historical. JELET’s page describes lateral entry into the second year of engineering and related courses across participating state institutions. IEM’s current group page instead describes IEMJEE for B.Tech and IEMCET for non-B.Tech programmes. The sources captured for this article contain no current IEM-specific opening or closing rank table. Older merit figures should not be presented as a current cutoff. Check the exact programme, campus and accepted exam with IEM before relying on any rank estimate.
