Scholarships listed for IMT Hyderabad
IMT’s current Fees & Scholarships page lists Hyderabad for the 2027–2029 batch and links a separate scholarship document for the campus. That document describes three types of support for two-year full-time PGDM programmes: a merit scholarship, the Smt Leela Nath Memorial Scholarship and a tuition-fee-waiver scheme. It does not state that every award is automatic or guarantee that the current terms will remain unchanged. The page says fee and scholarship terms are subject to each institute’s official notifications, so confirm the active Hyderabad notice before deciding what you can afford. The distinction between a waiver on academic fee and a reduction of the total payable amount is important. For the 2027–2029 Hyderabad PGDM and PGDM Finance batch, the linked fee schedule lists ₹15.27 lakh as academic fees within a total of ₹16 lakh. It lists the other charges separately: ₹50,000 admission fee, ₹8,000 alumni fee and ₹15,000 refundable caution money. The scholarship document says its percentage waivers apply to academic fee. It does not say that these other charges are waived or refunded when a student receives an award. Hyderabad 2027–2029 fee schedule
Merit scholarship: entrance score and continuation terms
The merit scholarship offers a 40% waiver on academic fee for the stated test-score thresholds: at least the 90th percentile in CAT or XAT, or a GMAT score of 700 in the 10th Edition or 655 in the Focus Edition and above. The same sheet lists a continuation requirement of CGPA 7.5 or above and no record of academic or non-academic misdemeanour during the PGDM. It does not identify which CAT or XAT edition qualifies, the GMAT score-validity window, whether test thresholds differ by programme, or the selection and award-confirmation process. Ask the scholarship office to confirm those details for your application year and save the written response.
As an illustration using the 2027–2029 Hyderabad fee schedule, 40% of ₹15.27 lakh is ₹6.108 lakh. That arithmetic is not a promised award value: the scholarship PDF does not explicitly label its criteria as belonging to the 2027–2029 batch, and an applicant still needs to meet the institute’s assessment and continuation rules. It also does not establish that the balance of the total ₹16 lakh falls by the same amount. Until an award is confirmed, budget using the full published instalments and treat a possible waiver as uncertain support.
Smt Leela Nath Memorial Scholarship
The memorial scholarship is stated for all female students joining the two-year full-time PGDM programmes. It provides a 20% waiver on academic fee, with continuation conditions of CGPA 7 or above and no record of academic or non-academic misdemeanour. The document does not describe an application form, selection mechanism, proof of eligibility, award timing or any programme-specific differences. “All female students joining” describes the stated eligibility group; it should not be read as confirmation that a separate application or administrative verification is unnecessary.
On the same ₹15.27 lakh academic-fee base, 20% equals ₹3.054 lakh. This is an illustration from two official schedules, not an entitlement or a guaranteed reduction to the full bill. The scholarship terms do not identify whether the waiver is applied before or after each fee instalment, how it appears on the student ledger, or what happens if the student does not meet the CGPA condition. Confirm the award letter and continuation rules directly with the institute.
Tuition-fee-waiver scheme
The third scheme provides a 100% waiver on academic fee for up to 5% of approved intake in each programme and refers to clause 6.42 of the AICTE Approval Process Handbook. The schedule does not provide a Hyderabad-specific application procedure, current handbook edition, criteria for selection, documentation, or a timeline. A full academic-fee waiver is not the same as a full-cost scholarship: the fee schedule separately lists admission, alumni and refundable caution charges, and it does not describe those as part of academic fee. The stated cap also means the scheme has a limited allocation rather than an open guarantee for every eligible applicant.
Before relying on this route, ask IMT Hyderabad which handbook edition and process govern the 2027–2029 intake, how many places are available within the approved intake, what financial or academic documents are required, and which charges remain payable. Do not assume the scheme is allocated purely by financial need or that it can be combined with the merit or memorial award; the published sheet does not say either.
Awards cannot be added together
The scholarship document says a student eligible for more than one scholarship or fee-waiver scheme receives only one. Do not add the 40% merit waiver to the 20% memorial waiver, or combine either with the 100% academic-fee waiver, to estimate a larger reduction. The institute states that the scholarship committee’s allocation decision is final and binding and reserves the right to change scholarship terms.
The practical sequence is to check the newest Hyderabad notice, identify the scheme for which you may qualify, obtain a written award decision and calculate the amount against the correct academic-fee base. Ask whether the award is credited equally across instalments or at a specified point, and what happens if an academic or conduct condition is not met. The published schedule gives percentage and continuation rules, but leaves those administrative details unstated.
Questions to resolve before paying
Confirm that the offer is for the Hyderabad campus and the programme you selected, rather than a Ghaziabad or Nagpur award. Ask which CAT/XAT edition and GMAT validity period are accepted, how the score and academic criteria are verified, whether there is a separate scholarship application, and when the result is announced. For a continuing award, request the CGPA calculation rules and the precise academic and non-academic conduct standard. For the tuition-fee-waiver scheme, ask for the applicable AICTE handbook clause and the current campus selection process.
Finally, obtain an instalment statement showing the base academic fee, confirmed scholarship credit, admission fee, alumni fee and caution deposit separately. The published 2027–2029 fee table totals ₹16 lakh, but only ₹15.27 lakh is identified as academic fees. Until the institute confirms an award in writing, do not subtract an illustrative percentage from the total or use a scholarship possibility as the basis for a loan commitment.
