Current cycle, deadline and what to verify
IRMA's rural-management programme is presented by the institute as MBA(RM), following its earlier PGDM(RM) name. The admission destination is now the Tribhuvan Sahkari University (TSU) MBA portal. For the 2027-29 cohort, an October 2026 report lists applications through 24 December 2026 and written-test/personal-interview activity from 22 to 28 February 2027. Those dates are reported by Collegedunia, not readable in the linked official notice image. Check the TSU portal and current prospectus before paying or making travel plans. The official eligibility page already contains 2027 completion dates, but the TSU homepage still displays a 2026-28 admission banner, so do not use that banner to determine the active cycle.
Programme name and the admissions authority
IRMA's homepage now says “PGDM(RM) is now MBA(RM)” and links applicants to the MBA admissions route. The TSU site lists a Master of Business Administration programme and hosts the eligibility, fee, notice and application instructions pages. Use “MBA(RM)” when referring to the current IRMA programme and recognise PGDM(RM) as its previous name. Some admission coverage uses a longer description, “MBA in Development Management and Cooperation”; the text-readable official programme and notice pages do not settle whether this is the exact award title for the IRMA MBA(RM) cycle. Read the current prospectus before selecting any programme name in a form or making assumptions about the final degree wording.
This change matters at the application stage: older guides may still call the programme PGDM(RM), mention IRMASAT, or quote selection weights from a prior batch. Those labels do not establish the 2027-29 rules. The current workflow is operated through TSU's MBA admissions pages, while IRMA remains the institute and Anand campus named in the programme material. Start from the official admissions notice page and follow its MBA links instead of relying on an old application link copied into a forum or an admissions article.
Who can apply
The current TSU eligibility page for Indian nationals says applicants may be graduates from any discipline. The minimum education requirement is 15 years, with at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA. It lists a 45% threshold for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), General EWS and PwD applicants. The text groups these categories together for the lower threshold; check the prospectus for documentation and any category-specific instructions that apply to your case. Meeting this academic minimum makes you eligible to apply, but it does not guarantee a shortlist.
If your university reports CGPA rather than percentage and has no prescribed conversion scheme, TSU says it will calculate the equivalent percentage by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum CGPA and multiplying by 100. For example, a 7.2 CGPA on a 10-point scale becomes 72% under that stated formula. If your university publishes an official conversion method, use that instead and upload the evidence requested in the application instructions. Do not substitute a coaching site's conversion table for the issuing university's rule.
Final-year students may apply, but the current eligibility page sets two separate completion conditions: evidence that the minimum eligibility criteria are met by September 2027, and appearance in all graduation examinations before the programme start date of 5 July 2027. A candidate who is selected but later fails to meet the minimum can be required to withdraw; the page says fees paid may be forfeited unless IRMA fills the vacant seat through a new admission. This makes final-year application a conditional route, not permission to defer examinations or marks indefinitely. Confirm your university result timeline against both dates before submitting.
The same eligibility page says there is no management quota for TSU MBA admission. It also reserves the university's right to shortlist and select applicants. Do not interpret the minimum percentage as a published entrance-score cutoff or an admission guarantee. The current readable pages do not publish a 2027-29 CAT, XAT or CMAT cutoff, selection weights, or a complete shortlist formula.
Entrance scores and selection stages
For 2027-29, an October 2026 admission report says applicants are shortlisted using entrance-test scores and lists CAT, XAT and CMAT as the relevant score options. It then describes a written ability test and a personal interview. The date report calls the written stage TSUWAT; another report on the same cycle uses IRMAWAT. Because the current official prospectus is a large PDF that could not be text-read and the official notice is displayed as an image, treat the exact test name, accepted score years, eligibility for each route, shortlist criteria and interview format as items to confirm in the official prospectus before applying.
The practical distinction is that a valid exam score may be only the first filter. An old guidebook or previous-cycle webpage can explain what IRMA used in an earlier batch, but its CAT/CMAT/XAT score weights, IRMASAT references, interview process or category thresholds should not be carried into 2027-29 without confirmation. No current official cutoff or 2027-29 weight table was verifiable in the text-readable sources reviewed for this page. If you are choosing between entrance exams, check the official prospectus for accepted examinations and score-year validity before deciding which score to submit.
2027-29 dates and application fee
An October 2026 Collegedunia report states that the MBA 2027-29 application deadline is 24 December 2026 and that the written test and personal interview are scheduled for 22-28 February 2027. These are useful planning dates, but the institute's notice page does not expose the linked announcement as readable text in the available page extract. Recheck the date and any later extension on the official TSU admissions portal before treating the window as final. Do not assume a deadline from a prior batch or from an old IRMA FAQ.
TSU's current application-fee page lists a non-refundable fee of ₹2,200 for General, General EWS and OBC applicants, and ₹1,100 for SC/ST/PwD applicants. It says applicants in the BPL category are exempt if they upload the certificate in the format prescribed by TSU. The exemption is tied to documentation, so prepare the certificate before starting the form. The official page does not state whether payment gateway charges or any additional levy apply; check the payment screen and prospectus total before completing payment. These are application charges, not the programme's tuition or residential fees.
How to apply and what to prepare
Use the TSU MBA admissions page, then register through the official applicant portal. The registration page asks candidates to keep a valid, unique email account and mobile number throughout the selection process. Use contact details you can access until final admission, since application status and subsequent instructions are tied to the registered account. The portal provides a new-applicant registration route as well as a separate login for registered applicants.
Before filling the form, keep clear scans of the documents named in TSU's instructions:
- Photograph and signature. The instructions specify a recent photograph, no older than six months, with a plain white or off-white background. JPEG/JPG files are listed, with a 1 MB size limit.
- Class 10, Class 12 and graduation mark sheets. Graduation mark sheets are listed with a 1.5 MB limit; the school records and other supporting files are listed with a 500 KB limit.
- Category certificate, when applicable, including EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST or PwD documentation. BPL applicants seeking the fee exemption must upload the prescribed BPL certificate.
- CGPA/OGPA conversion formula if your school, college or university uses a non-percentage scale and has an institutional conversion method.
- Domicile, sports or extracurricular and work-experience records where applicable. These are conditional documents, not a direction for every applicant to upload every certificate.
Enter your name as it appears on your Aadhaar card, and review category and academic details carefully before final submission. TSU says edits are permitted before submission, but the submitted form can no longer be edited and the category cannot be changed after submission. Save a copy of the completed form. Pay only after the category, programme selection and uploaded documents have been checked, because the fee is non-refundable.
A practical verification checklist
Before you submit, confirm five things on the current official notice or prospectus: that the cycle is 2027-29; the application deadline and any extension; which entrance exams and score years are accepted; the written test's exact name and interview schedule; and the current degree/programme wording. Then check that your marks and category documents meet the published threshold, that final-year timelines fit the July and September 2027 conditions, and that the fee shown at checkout matches your category. Keep the portal's confirmation and application copy after submission.
The official TSU pages are the source of record for eligibility, application instructions and category fees. The reported cycle dates and test stages above are attributed to the latest opened admission coverage because the official notice image and large prospectus were not machine-readable in this research pass. If those materials change, the official TSU notice and prospectus take precedence. No 2027-29 cutoff, selection weight or final shortlist formula is presented here as verified.
