JNTUH scholarships for 2027-28: what is confirmed
If you are comparing JNTUH with another university, do not build your budget around a scholarship amount that has not been announced for your programme. The official material reviewed for this page confirms one course-specific support route for certain regular postgraduate admissions, and it points students toward external scholarship channels. It does not publish a single JNTUH-wide award, a 2027-28 application deadline, or a payment amount applicable to every student.
The clearest JNTUH-specific statement concerns the regular stream for M.Tech, M.Pharmacy and MCA. JNTUH’s admissions page says AICTE scholarship or stipend support is provided to GATE-qualified candidates in that regular stream. It separately says applicants in the non-sponsored, self-supporting category are not eligible for that scholarship, even though GATE or PGECET qualification may be preferred. This distinction matters: qualifying in an exam does not by itself make a self-supporting seat a funded seat.
For other programmes and student groups, check the relevant government portal and the current admission notice. The JNTUH page does not establish a blanket award for B.Tech students, all postgraduate programmes, or every research scholar. Treat older notices and prior-year portal dates as history until the responsible authority publishes the new cycle.
JNTUH’s stated AICTE support route
JNTUH’s admissions page describes regular M.Tech, M.Pharmacy and MCA admissions through the relevant GATE, PGECET, GPAT or ICET route. It then separates three admission categories. For the regular stream, the page says AICTE scholarship or stipend support will be provided to GATE-qualified candidates. For the sponsored category, it specifies two years of work experience and sponsorship by the candidate’s current organisation. For the non-sponsored, self-supporting category, it says GATE and PGECET-qualified candidates may receive preference but are not eligible for the scholarship.
Use those statements as a starting point, not as a substitute for the programme’s current admission notice. Before accepting a seat, ask the relevant JNTUH unit which stream your offer belongs to, whether the GATE paper and admission year qualify under the active AICTE rules, how the amount and duration are set, and what happens if a student changes category or fails to meet progress conditions. The published admissions page does not specify a stipend amount, payment start date or 2027-28 application procedure.
The page also lists entrance-based routes for other programmes, including university entrance tests for regular M.Sc and part-time courses. Those admission routes should not be read as scholarship promises. A candidate admitted through PGECET, GPAT, ICET or a university test should verify support separately rather than assuming the GATE-linked statement transfers to them.
Telangana ePASS and the National Scholarship Portal
Students who may qualify for Telangana post-matric assistance should check the official Telangana ePASS portal for the current fresh or renewal application route. The portal’s student-services listing shows post-matric scholarship services, including fresh and renewal registrations for 2026-27. That is evidence of a prior/current portal cycle, not an opening date or eligibility decision for 2027-28. Category, domicile, course, income and verification conditions are scheme-specific; read the active scheme notice before submitting documents or making a fee decision.
The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) shows Academic Year 2026-27 information. Its student page says the portal opened from 1 June 2026, requires a One Time Registration (OTR), and allows an eligible student to apply for one merit-based scheme and one or more welfare-based schemes, subject to each scheme’s rules. It describes OTR as a 14-digit number based on Aadhaar or an Aadhaar Enrolment ID and says it is required to apply. These details are useful for planning the portal steps, but do not carry the 2026-27 opening or closing dates into the next admission year.
For either portal, start with the scheme specification and eligibility tool, then confirm that your exact course and institution are accepted. Check whether you need a fresh or renewal application, the academic year displayed on the form, the institute-verification stage, and the final application status. Keep the acknowledgement and use the official payment-tracking route if the scheme directs you there. A portal listing means an application channel exists; it does not mean every JNTUH student qualifies or that funding is guaranteed.
A practical scholarship check before you accept a seat
- Identify the exact programme and unit. JNTUH is a university with constituent colleges and academic units. Record the course, admission category, campus or unit, academic year and counselling or entrance route on your allotment document.
- Separate the funding route from the admission route. For a regular M.Tech, M.Pharmacy or MCA candidate, compare the offer with the GATE-linked AICTE statement on JNTUH’s admissions page. For a self-supporting seat, do not treat GATE or PGECET preference as proof of scholarship eligibility.
- Check each public scheme on its own portal. Telangana post-matric assistance and NSP schemes have distinct eligibility and verification rules. Use the official scheme specification, not a coaching-site summary or an old notice.
- Match the application year. Confirm whether a portal says 2026-27 or 2027-28, whether it accepts fresh applications or renewals, and whether the institute-verification window remains open. Keep a dated copy of the active notice.
- Ask the unit in writing about unresolved terms. Confirm whether your course and admission category qualify, what documents are required, whether support is paid to you or adjusted against fees, the amount and duration, renewal conditions, and what costs remain payable before approval.
Do not deduct an unapproved scholarship from your estimated tuition bill. The current official sources reviewed explain where some candidates may seek support, but do not settle every student’s eligibility or the next cycle’s funding terms. For a 2027-28 decision, confirm the fresh notice with JNTUH and the relevant scheme authority before relying on a payment date or amount.
JNTUH scholarship FAQs
Is a JNTUH scholarship amount announced for every 2027-28 student? The official pages reviewed do not show a university-wide amount or 2027-28 closing date. Check your programme and the active scheme notice.
Does a GATE score guarantee a stipend for every postgraduate seat? No. JNTUH’s page attaches AICTE support to the regular stream and explicitly excludes non-sponsored self-supporting candidates from the scholarship.
Can Telangana students use ePASS or NSP? These are official scheme portals worth checking if you may meet their rules. Eligibility depends on the specific scheme, student category, course, institution and academic year; a portal link is not an award confirmation.
Can I use a 2026-27 deadline for 2027-28 planning? No. Use the current notice for the exact cycle. The 2026-27 portal details cited here are historical cycle guidance, not a future deadline.
