MDI Murshidabad PGDM Admission 2027–29
Eligibility, grades and final-year applicants
The 2027–29 programme is a two-year, full-time residential PGDM at MDI Murshidabad. For an Indian applicant, the current page asks for a valid CAT 2026, XAT 2027 or GMAT score. It also sets academic thresholds at 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in both Class 10 and Class 12, and at least 50% or equivalent CGPA in a bachelor’s degree.
The undergraduate degree must be at least three years long, in any discipline, and awarded by a recognised university or an equivalent institution covered by the notice. The degree must represent at least three years of study after higher secondary education. This means a shorter post-school qualification alone does not satisfy the stated degree-duration rule. Applicants should check the recognition and duration recorded by their awarding institution before paying the application fee.
Candidates still completing their bachelor’s degree may apply, but the dates are specific. All degree requirements must be completed by 30 June 2027. The applicant then has to provide evidence by 1 October 2027; the institute says a candidate may be asked to withdraw if that evidence is not supplied. A final-year student should therefore confirm that the university can issue the required proof by the second date, not merely that examinations will have taken place by June.
MDI Murshidabad follows the percentage-conversion practice of the university, institution or board that issued the qualification. If the issuer awards grades or CGPA, its certified equivalence is used. Only when the issuer has no conversion scheme does the institute say it will divide the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiply by 100. Use the awarding body’s method where it exists and keep the supporting document; do not substitute a coaching-site conversion table.
These requirements are cumulative. A candidate should check the Class 10 and Class 12 records as well as the undergraduate transcript: meeting the degree threshold does not replace the two school-level thresholds. Where grades are used, the applicable conversion depends first on the awarding institution’s own published practice. Keep that policy or certificate available if the application asks how the percentage was calculated.
Test scores and the selection process
The institute identifies CAT 2026, XAT 2027 and a valid GMAT score for shortlisting Indian applicants. The named test editions matter: the published requirement does not say that a score from any earlier CAT or XAT cycle can be carried forward. The page does not give a GMAT validity window, so candidates relying on GMAT should confirm that their score is valid for the application deadline.
Shortlisting considers the application details together with the accepted test score. Shortlisted candidates are invited to a selection process, which may be conducted online or at an in-person centre. The page lists Bangalore, Gurugram, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai as possible centres. It marks centres outside Kolkata and Gurugram as tentative, so a candidate should wait for the institute’s communication before making travel plans.
The final selection is not described as an entrance score alone. MDI Murshidabad lists CAT, XAT or GMAT score, group discussion and personal interview, academic merit, academic diversity, work experience, sports and extracurricular activities, and gender diversity as factors carrying weight. The page provides the factors but not a numerical weight for each one. Applicants should not assume equal weights or calculate a predicted composite score from an unofficial formula.
The notice also separates the international applicant route. Foreign, OCI and PIO applicants, and children of Indian workers in Gulf countries, may be considered on a valid GMAT score. The page states a separate registration deadline for that group; check the current form for its document and eligibility requirements rather than applying the Indian-applicant rule by analogy.
The notice describes a staged decision: application details and the named test score are used for shortlisting, then shortlisted candidates attend the selection process, and the final decision weighs several academic and personal factors. A test score alone therefore should not be read as an admission offer or as a promise of an interview. Wait for the institute’s communication before arranging travel or assuming a particular mode for the selection interaction.
Form, campus choice and payment
MDI Murshidabad and MDI Gurgaon use a common application form. The candidate can select Murshidabad, Gurgaon or both, but the institute explicitly says that the two campuses have separate admission processes. Selecting both is therefore a request to be considered by each campus, not one shared selection decision. Confirm that the Murshidabad option is selected if that is the campus you intend to join.
The form fee depends on that choice: ₹1,000 for MDI Murshidabad, ₹3,000 for MDI Gurgaon or ₹3,500 for both. Each quoted amount includes 18% GST. These are application charges, not programme tuition fees. The fee structure for the two-year PGDM is a separate schedule and can change; do not use the application fee as a guide to total study cost.
The institute says online payment is available by credit card, debit card, internet banking or UPI as shown on the payment page. Before paying, review the campus selection, test edition and personal details in the common form. Keep the payment confirmation and a copy of the completed application. The application page is the controlling source for any updated instructions or candidate-specific documents.

A practical check before payment is to read the campus option twice and compare it with the programme and location you intend to select. The common form is a convenience for applications to either or both institutions; it does not make their selection decisions interchangeable. Save the completed form and payment acknowledgement so you can refer to the same application details if the admission office requests clarification.
Application deadline
The published closing time for the online Murshidabad PGDM 2027–29 application is Saturday, 28 November 2026 at 5:00 pm. Submit before the stated time and retain the confirmation. This date is the deadline printed in the official notice, not a promise that the institute will extend the form. Check the live application page before submission in case a later official notice changes the schedule.
Since the notice gives a specific closing hour as well as a date, submit with enough time for the online payment and confirmation to complete. Keep a copy of the final acknowledgement. If a later official notice changes the schedule, follow that notice rather than relying on an old saved copy of the page.
