Treat each scholarship notice as a separate award
NIT Raipur’s official notices show more than one route to financial support, but they do not establish a single current scholarship package for every student. The institute’s 24 February 2026 notice announced two competitive awards with different course, year-of-study, income and selection conditions. A separate National Scholarship Portal notice describes a central application and verification process for several government schemes. Both are dated examples. The 2026 institute call closed on 6 March 2026, and the saved sources do not establish an open application window or award rules for the 2027-28 intake. Use the latest notice for the exact scheme before applying. NIT Raipur’s February 2026 scholarship notice.
It is also useful to distinguish an award from a reduction in the fee bill. The 2025-26 fee circular separately lists tuition remission by income and category. A competitive scholarship notice may instead make a one-time grant or monthly payment to a limited number of selected students. The award conditions, application route and amount are not interchangeable with a tuition-waiver row, even when both relate to education costs. Check whether a future notice describes fee reimbursement, an institutional grant, or an external scheme, and read its own eligibility and payment terms.
Two institute calls documented for 2026
The February 2026 notice offered full tuition fee reimbursement for economically backward B.Tech and B.Arch students who had passed the previous academic year without a backlog. The notice applied a family-income band of ₹1-5 lakh for financial year 2024-25 and required an income certificate issued on or after 1 April 2025 by a competent authority not below Tehsildar. Continuing students were to be selected by CPI in the previous even semester; first-year candidates were assessed using their Class 12 examination. The notice specified a one-time ₹41,667 grant for each of five selected students. Those conditions and the number of awards belong to that call, not a standing entitlement or a promise for a later intake.
The second award in the same notice was a Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship sponsored by Dr K.K. Sugandhi. It was limited to second-year B.Tech students who had passed both first-year semesters in the first attempt and whose family income was below ₹2.5 lakh in FY 2024-25. The notice requested an income certificate issued on or after 1 April 2025 by an authority not below Tehsildar. It prioritised the applicant with the lowest family income; if incomes were equal, the student with the higher second-semester CPI was to be selected. The stated award was ₹1,110 per month for ten months for one selected student. A student meeting the income condition still had to satisfy the academic and selection requirements, and the notice did not describe this as automatic payment.
The 2026 notice also said that applicants could not be receiving another scholarship. It named students selected under Chhattisgarh Post Matric, National Scholarship Portal, other state-government and Shraman Foundation schemes among those ineligible for these two awards. This means a student should disclose existing assistance and read scheme-specific exclusion clauses before submitting multiple applications. Do not assume that separate portals allow concurrent awards. Ask the Student Section how to proceed if an existing application is pending or a scheme’s terms are unclear.
National Scholarship Portal process in the saved notice
A separate institute notice dated 23 July 2025 refers to the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and to new and renewal applications. It says regular students in B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech, MCA and M.Sc were to use the portal for relevant schemes, then submit the application verification copy and required certificates to the institute before the applicable scheme deadline. For renewal, the notice asked for the preceding examination marksheets; first-year applicants were directed to include Class 10 and 12 records. The checklist also names an undertaking, online application printout, bank details, Aadhaar, family-income proof, caste and residence documents, and current-semester fee receipt. Hostel fee proof was requested where hostel accommodation had been allotted. NIT Raipur NSP notice.
There is an edition mismatch in that source: its file name says “2025-26”, while the body identifies the student session as 2024-25. The notice is dated July 2025. This page preserves the body’s session and does not treat the filename as proof that its thresholds or document rules apply to a later year. It lists scheme-specific income limits, including different amounts for Chhattisgarh post-matric and NSP categories, and says income certificates must be issued on or after 1 April of the current year by an officer at or above the specified tehsil-level rank. Because the session label is inconsistent and schemes can revise thresholds, verify the current portal scheme and the corresponding institute notice rather than reusing those older limits.
A practical application checklist
First identify the funding route that fits your course, year of study, category and family-income evidence. Then read the current call from beginning to end: check whether it is restricted to first-year or continuing students, whether prior backlogs disqualify an applicant, which examination result determines merit, the income year used, and how many recipients can be selected. A per-month amount should be multiplied only by the number of months stated in that notice; a one-time grant is not an annual renewal unless the later notice says so.
Prepare documents only against the current rules. The 2025 NSP notice included identity, bank, income, caste or residence records and marksheets, with separate material for new and renewal applications. The 2026 institute call specified the income-certificate year and issue date for its own awards. Those instructions are examples, not a universal list: scheme requirements can differ, and the income year in a new call may change. Keep copies of the online submission, supporting records and institute acknowledgement, and check whether the institute requires a second verification step after portal submission.
For the next intake, consult NIT Raipur’s official student circulars and the scholarship portal for active dates, forms, eligibility and award amounts. The latest detailed institutional call captured here had a March 2026 deadline that has passed. The 2025 NSP notice has the session mismatch described above. No directly verified 2027-28 award notice or open deadline is available in these sources, so neither a student’s eligibility nor a future amount can be confirmed from them. Contact the Student Section using the current institute directory when the new notice appears, especially before combining awards or relying on a prior year’s income threshold.
