NIT Goa’s main undergraduate engineering catalogue lists five four-year B.Tech programmes: Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The institute’s published programme page reports 44 seats each for CSE, ECE and EEE, and 42 each for Civil and Mechanical, totalling 216; it divides those figures between JoSAA/CSAB and DASA admissions. Treat these as the institute’s published intake description, not a confirmed 2027-28 seat matrix. The official JoSAA page and current seat matrix control the actual programme availability and category-wise allocation for a given intake. NIT Goa programme details · NIT Goa admissions
At postgraduate level, NIT Goa lists M.Tech programmes in CSE, VLSI, and Power Electronics and Power Systems. Its About page reports an aggregate M.Tech intake of 80 across the programmes, while the programme-specific route and eligibility should be checked with the relevant department and admission notice. Ph.D. study is also listed, but it is a separate research admission rather than another B.Tech or M.Tech choice. Applicants should compare degree level, curriculum, entry route and duration before comparing fees: a B.Tech amount should not be projected onto postgraduate study.
The current fee evidence available for B.Tech is NIT Goa’s physical-reporting notice for AY 2026-27. It is a dated first-semester schedule, not a complete four-year quotation and not a 2027-28 fee circular. The notice lists institute fees of ₹84,000 for GEN/OBC/EWS candidates and ₹21,500 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. It separately lists ₹44,250 for first-semester hostel admission, including mess. Hostel accommodation is allocated at physical reporting, so this is a hosteller amount, not a compulsory addition for every student. The notice does not support multiplying these values by eight to create a four-year estimate. Official AY 2026-27 reporting and fee notice
For the 2026-27 B.Tech intake, the reporting notice described tuition relief separately from the first-semester institute total. GEN, GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL students with annual family income below ₹1 lakh could claim a refund of the full ₹62,500 tuition component. For annual family income from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh, the notice specified a two-thirds tuition refund of ₹41,667. SC/ST/PwD students were exempt from tuition under that notice, without an income certificate requirement. These provisions are specific to that published intake and should not be presented as confirmed 2027-28 policy.
The notice said candidates initially pay the full first-semester fee and that the waived tuition is refunded after JoSAA/CSAB transfers the relevant component and the institute verifies documents. This timing matters for planning: an eligible remission is not the same as a lower amount automatically deducted at the time of admission. Applicants should budget for the payment step shown in their live portal and verify the refund process with the current circular.
For 2026-27, the reporting balance table showed GEN/OBC/EWS first-semester institute fees of ₹84,000, with ₹70,000 paid as the JoSAA/CSAB acceptance or partial-admission amount after the stated processing deduction and ₹14,000 remaining at physical admission. The SC/ST/PwD row showed ₹21,500 institute fee, ₹30,000 previously paid, and no reporting balance. These rows explain the 2026 reporting reconciliation; they are not interchangeable with the separate hostel payment, nor are the counselling payments a second institute tuition charge. DASA had a separate row and should be assessed under the DASA notice and each candidate’s portal ledger.
The notice listed the documents for a remission claim: an application, current income certificate(s) from the competent authority, income-tax return acknowledgement for the specified assessment year, student and parent identity/bank records, and supporting forms. Exact issue dates and formats were tied to FY 2025-26 and AY 2026-27. Those document windows have expired; use the next official fee-remission notice rather than reusing the old checklist. NIT Goa’s fee and remission instructions
The 2026-27 notice set the first-semester hostel fee at ₹44,250, including mess. A simple addition to the institute fee gives dated first-semester examples of ₹1,28,250 for a GEN/OBC/EWS hosteller before any tuition refund and ₹65,750 for an SC/ST/PwD hosteller under the listed institute and hostel amounts. These are arithmetic illustrations from two same-period lines, not an official total-cost quotation. They exclude later-semester changes, personal expenses, travel, books, deposits or any charges not shown in that notice. The institute says hostel room allotment takes place at physical reporting; do not assume that paying the hostel fee guarantees a particular room or that a day scholar owes this charge.
For an accurate family budget, use the current academic circular and separate at least four amounts: institute fee by category and semester, hostel/mess by residence and period, one-time deposits or charges, and any counselling balance due at a specific stage. Then apply only the remission for which the student can document eligibility. Keep refundable deposits separate from recurring fees and distinguish a tuition refund from a scholarship award. The reviewed 2026 notice supports its specified first-semester amounts and the tuition refund rules; it does not substantiate a four-year total or an annual recurring cost.
The official institute admissions site links a general fee-structure document and an online payment portal. The 2026 reporting notice says the payment link becomes active after online reporting and document verification. Candidates should rely on the portal ledger for their exact amount due and retain the transaction receipt. If the ledger differs from a summary table, contact the institute before paying; do not pay an unofficial account or use an old screenshot as proof of the current balance. As of 1 November 2026, the reviewed official fee notice is for AY 2026-27. No 2027-28 institute fee circular was located in the reviewed sources. The next intake may revise institute fees, remission documentation, hostel charges or payment sequencing. Recheck the NIT Goa admissions page, fee structure and current reporting notice before accepting a seat or estimating the cost of attendance. The 2026 figures here are useful as a dated reference only.
