National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal · Institute code 211. These official JEE Main Paper 1 rank-based records are a separate source from any historical database records on this page. Each row is one exact seat profile, not a single college-wide cutoff.
Showing 22 OPEN, gender-neutral profiles, selected across programme labels and quotas. The full source has 251 published profiles across 11 programme labels, including all recorded seat types, quotas and gender pools. Use the institute explorer to check the profile that applies to you. It shows up to 100 matches at a time; narrow by programme, seat type, quota or gender pool to see further matches.
Computer Science and Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)
OS quota · Gender-neutral · Non-PwD · Round 5. This is one published reference programme and quota, not a college-wide cutoff or a branch recommendation.
Compare like-for-like rank lists: OPEN uses CRL; category and PwD ranks in the full explorer are separate lists. HS/OS use JoSAA's Class XII state code rules, not simply residential domicile.
Paper 1 programmes include engineering and integrated science/design. CSAB, B.Arch and B.Planning are excluded. Round history retains this exact programme, quota, seat type and gender pool across Rounds 1-5; an unreported round is not replaced with zero.

An NITK cutoff is not one universal score. JoSAA’s official opening and closing rank interface reports allocation outcomes by academic year, round, institute, programme, seat type and other filters. To interpret a value, preserve the programme, round, category or seat type, gender pool and rank scale beside it. The live tool for 2026 is the correct starting point for current-year data; a rank from another year or category cannot be substituted. JoSAA opening and closing ranks
On the JoSAA ORCR interface, select the relevant year and counselling round, then choose NITK and the exact academic programme. Select the seat type/category and gender pool that match the candidate. Read both opening and closing ranks from the resulting row. If the tool offers multiple programme labels that seem similar, use the exact name in the official choice list. Save the filter conditions along with the rank so that the comparison can be reproduced.
The rank scale is consequential. JoSAA explains that Open seats use the Common Rank List (CRL). Reserved seat types use the respective category rank; PwD seats use the corresponding category-specific PwD rank. Do not compare a CRL value to an OBC-NCL, SC, ST or PwD rank as though they were the same measure. If a candidate has more than one potentially relevant category, follow the official seat-type rules and check which rank is used for each choice.
Opening rank is the best rank at which an allocation was made for that filtered seat pool and round; closing rank is the last rank at which a seat was allocated in that result. These are outcomes of a completed allocation, not qualifying marks, a fixed admission threshold or a promise for a future year. They move when applicants alter their preferences, seats change, categories or pools differ, and rounds progress.
A later round may have a different closing rank from an earlier round because the available seats and candidate choices differ. Keep round-specific rows separate. Do not select a value from one round and describe it as the institute’s overall cutoff. If a page or chart combines rounds, verify how it defines the combined figure. The official ORCR tool provides the underlying filter dimensions needed for a more precise comparison.
Historical ranks can help a candidate build a realistic preference list, but they cannot predict an individual allotment. A candidate should first rank programmes in genuine order of preference, then use previous results as a secondary planning signal. Do not put a course higher merely because one year’s closing rank appears easier if the student would not want that course. Do not assume that meeting a past closing rank guarantees a seat next year.
If you save a comparison, record its year, round, programme, seat type/category, gender pool and rank type. Include the opening and closing values exactly as the tool shows them. A copied number without those fields can lead to a misleading comparison or an incorrect estimate of eligibility. If the current year has not yet produced a particular round, mark that value as not yet available rather than using a different round.
NITK’s B.Tech reporting notice covers JoSAA/CSAB entrants, and the institute’s admission index lists those pathways. JoSAA ORCR figures should not be described as a DASA cutoff or as the selection rule for postgraduate admissions. DASA and other programmes have separate notices and may use different eligibility and allocation rules. Confirm that the dataset matches the route you are considering.
The NITK institute code in the official allocation tool should match the institution identity before interpreting a row. Check the programme name as well. An institute-level figure can conceal differences among branches, categories and pools. This page does not provide a single cutoff table because the correct value is specific to the filter combination and the live rows were not captured as fixed evidence in the source packet. Use the live official tool and preserve its parameters.
Before using a cutoff, ask:
If any answer differs, treat the value as a separate comparison, not as the candidate’s threshold. For decisions, pair historical ORCR data with current eligibility, seat matrix and notices. Seat availability and applicant preferences can change between years.
Is there one NITK cutoff rank? No. It varies by programme, round, seat type/category, gender pool and rank scale.
Does a past closing rank guarantee admission? No. It records a past allocation outcome and cannot guarantee a future seat.
Can I compare category rank with CRL? No. JoSAA identifies different rank scales for Open, reserved and PwD seat pools.
Where do I get a current value? Use the official JoSAA ORCR interface and record all filters with the result.
Can these ranks be applied to DASA or M.Tech? No. Check the relevant route-specific notice and dataset.
CRL and category ranks are different lists; do not compare their numbers as one scale. Only recorded categories are shown. An absent row does not mean a zero cutoff or establish eligibility.
