SS Agrawal Institute of Management and Technology (SSAIMT) in Navsari is a private, AICTE-approved college that’s carved out a specific niche. It’s not a national brand, but within South Gujarat, it’s often cited as a solid private option for an MBA or MCA degree, especially if you’re looking to stay and work in the region. The campus is clean and green, the library is a genuine highlight, and the placement cell does bring in a steady stream of regional recruiters. But there’s a gap between the brochure and the ground reality—placement packages are modest, and the management style, as per numerous student accounts, leans toward the rigidly disciplined. It’s a college that offers a functional, practical education with clear boundaries, both literal and figurative.

Courses and Academic Programs at SS Agrawal Institute

SSAIMT is a postgraduate-only institute, which gives it a focused, if limited, academic scope. All programs run under the GTU semester system, so you’re following the same curriculum and 10-point CGPA pattern as hundreds of other colleges in the state.

The MBA program, with an intake of 60-120 students, offers specializations in Finance, Marketing, and Human Resource Management. The MCA program, with 120 seats, follows the standard GTU syllabus heavy on programming, data structures, and web development. Academically, it’s a straightforward affair. The faculty, numbering around 12-14 core members, includes PhD holders like Dr. Rajnish Rakholia and Dr. Dikshan Shah. Student reviews typically call them helpful and knowledgeable, though some note the teaching can feel traditional. Where SSAIMT tries to differentiate is through practical exposure. They organize industrial visits to major companies like Adani, and they run an International Experience Program (IEP)—a student participated in a 2024 IEP in Australia. It’s a decent effort to add something beyond the textbook.

SSAIMT Placements: Packages, Companies & Reality Check

This is where you need to read between the lines. The college and education portals will highlight the highest package, which was 10 LPA for the 2024 batch. That’s a real number, but it’s an outlier. The realistic average package for the majority of placed students falls in the ₹3.0 to ₹3.5 LPA range. The median is likely closer to ₹2.8 LPA.

Placement percentages also tell two stories. Official AICTE reports from recent years show figures between 36.5% and 52%. Student reviews, however, often claim a higher rate—around 70%—for those actively seeking on-campus jobs. The discrepancy likely comes from how you count the cohort. The recruiters are a mix of regional banking and IT firms. You’ll see names like HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, and AU Small Finance Bank for MBA grads. For MCA students, IT recruiters include Casepoint, Waaree, and various Surat-based tech firms like ANS IT India. Core sector companies like Pidilite, TATA Steel, and L&T also visit. The verdict? The placement cell is active and brings opportunities, but they are largely regional and entry-level. Don’t rely solely on campus drives if you’re aiming for top-tier roles or locations; you’ll need to hustle on your own.

Fees and Financial Aid at SSAIMT

The fee structure is regulated by Gujarat’s Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC), which keeps costs relatively transparent and stable.

For the 2024-25 academic year, the annual tuition fee for the MBA program is ₹82,687. For the MCA program, it ranges from ₹74,970 to ₹1,12,000. Over the two-year course, you’re looking at a total tuition cost of approximately ₹1.65 lakhs for MBA and ₹1.5 to ₹2.25 lakhs for MCA.

On top of tuition, hostel and mess fees run about ₹60,000 per year for a veg-only meal plan. Transport by college bus could add another ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 annually. There are also nominal registration and exam fees.

For financial aid, Gujarat students should actively explore the Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana (MYSY) and the Digital Gujarat scholarships for SC/ST/OBC categories. The national Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS), which provides full tuition waivers based on merit and income, is also available.

SSAIMT Admissions: Eligibility and Cutoffs

Admissions are centralized and handled by the state’s Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC). There’s no direct application to the college for the majority of seats.

For the MBA program, you need a valid score from CMAT (primary) or CAT. For MCA, you need a score from GUJCET or will be considered under ACPC merit. The process is straightforward: take the exam, register for ACPC counseling, and participate in the online choice-filling rounds.

The 2024-25 cutoff ranks for the General Home State category give a sense of the competition:

• MBA (Finance): Round 1 closing rank was 13,196; Round 2 was 12,312.
• MCA: Round 1 closed at rank 22,731; Round 2 at 22,748.

These ranks indicate moderate demand. After the ACPC rounds conclude, the college does fill a management quota (estimated at 15-25% of seats) through direct application. You’d need to contact the administration directly for that process.

Campus Life and Infrastructure

The campus, part of a larger group of institutions, is consistently praised for being clean, green, and well-maintained. It’s not sprawling, but it’s pleasant.

The hostels (separate for boys and girls) get a 3.5/5 rating from residents. Rooms are generally non-AC with attached bathrooms. The veg-only mess food is described as average to good. Academically, the computer labs are a strong point—they’re air-conditioned and equipped with current software. The library is arguably the best spot on campus: serene, well-stocked, and with digital journal access via GTU.

For extracurriculars, there’s a large ground for cricket and football, plus indoor facilities for table tennis and carrom. The on-campus Ayurveda and Physiotherapy Hospital is a unique and practical amenity for students. Social life often revolves around the canteen, which is noted as a popular, affordable hangout.

But here’s the consistent caveat from student reviews: the atmosphere is strict. The 75% attendance rule is enforced rigidly. There are multiple accounts of a "school-like" environment with rules about conduct and, anecdotally, interactions between students. It’s something to weigh if you value a more autonomous college experience.

What Students Say About SSAIMT — Reviews & Ratings

Synthesizing feedback from portals like Shiksha and CollegeDunia, a clear consensus emerges.

The positives are tangible: “The campus is very clean and beautiful with a lot of greenery.” The library and canteen are repeatedly highlighted as top-tier facilities. Faculty are generally seen as accessible and competent.

The criticisms are equally consistent. The strict management style is the biggest gripe, with students feeling “treated like kids” over minor infractions. Placement reality is the other major point. While the cell is active, the packages for the average student are acknowledged to be modest, often starting in the ₹15,000-₹25,000 per month range. Some reviews also allude to conservative rules regarding social interaction, though these are harder to verify independently.

Verdict: Is SS Agrawal Institute of Management and Technology Worth It?

SSAIMT is a pragmatic choice for a specific student profile. If you are a Gujarat-based student with a CMAT or GUJCET rank in the range of 12,000-23,000, and you want a decent, AICTE-approved GTU degree from a college with good infrastructure in South Gujarat, it’s a viable option. The placement cell will connect you with regional banks and IT firms, offering a legitimate, if not high-flying, start to your career. The clean campus and strong library are real perks.

However, if you’re aiming for national-level placements, a high-paced metropolitan environment, or a college culture with significant freedom and autonomy, you’ll likely find SSAIMT too limiting. The strict disciplinary approach and modest salary outcomes are deal-breakers for some. In short, it’s a worth-it college for those with aligned, regional goals and a tolerance for structure. For others, it might feel like a step down from their aspirations.
