JoSAA 2026 Cutoffs for JEE Main College Prediction
JoSAA cutoffs are the opening and closing ranks recorded for an institute-programme, quota, seat type and gender pool in a specific allocation round. This release preserves those dimensions across 9,230 official Paper 1 rows instead of flattening them into one misleading college cutoff.
TL;DR
- 9,230 official round-5 Paper 1 rows.
- 103 mapped NIT, IIIT and GFTI institutes.
- 180 exact published programme labels.
- 10 seat types and 6 quota codes preserved.
- CSV and hash manifest available without sign-in.
- CSAB, B.Arch and B.Planning are deliberately excluded.
Match each cutoff row with the correct rank list
The most important calculation rule is simple: the selected seat type decides which rank belongs in the comparison. A reserved candidate may be eligible for more than one lane, but each lane must be evaluated with its own official rank.
| JoSAA row | Rank to use | Do not substitute |
|---|---|---|
| OPEN | Common Rank List (CRL) | Category rank |
| GEN-EWS / OBC-NCL / SC / ST | Matching category rank | CRL |
| OPEN (PwD) | CRL-PwD rank | CRL |
| Reserved category (PwD) | Matching category-PwD rank | CRL or parent-category rank |
Selected official cutoff rows
These examples are sampled across the OPEN, gender-neutral closing-rank distribution. They show data shape and range; they are not a college ranking or recommendation.

Twenty-four OPEN, gender-neutral AI/HS/OS rows sampled at even positions across the closing-rank distribution; examples are descriptive, not a ranking.
Publication method
- 1Retain official JoSAA 2026 round-5 rows for exactly mapped NIT+ institutes.
- 2Keep JEE Main Paper 1 B.E./B.Tech programmes; exclude B.Arch and B.Planning.
- 3Preserve quota, seat type, gender pool, rank basis, opening rank and closing rank without aggregation.
- 4Exclude Admission Guardian database IDs from the public artifact.
Limits and exclusions
- • This is a cutoff evidence release, not a seat-allotment guarantee.
- • Eight institutes in the official 2026 NIT+ list remain unmapped and are excluded.
- • CSAB special-round cutoffs are not included.
- • Programme restrictions and candidate eligibility must be checked separately.
- • Some official programme labels map to more than one internal programme code; those rows remain identified by the exact published label.
Download and verify the release
The CSV is 2.7 MB. Its SHA-256 is published in the manifest so researchers can verify that a local copy has not changed.

Which rank should I compare with JoSAA cutoffs?
Match the rank to the seat-type row. OPEN uses CRL. GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC and ST rows use the corresponding category rank, while PwD rows use the corresponding PwD rank list. Do not compare every row with CRL.
Does this JoSAA 2026 dataset include CSAB cutoffs?
No. The release contains JoSAA 2026 round-5 cutoffs only. CSAB special-round cutoffs are a separate allocation process and are deliberately not mixed into this file or the live Paper 1 predictor.
Why does the Paper 1 release cover 103 institutes rather than all 114 NIT+ institutes?
103 mapped institutes have Paper 1 rows in the final-round release. The broader all-paper map covers 106 of 114 official NIT+ institutes. 8 unresolved institute identities are quarantined instead of being guessed.
Can I download the JoSAA 2026 cutoff data?
Yes. The complete 9,230-row Paper 1 CSV and a JSON release manifest are available without sign-in. The manifest publishes the file hash, scope, method and exclusions.
Does a closing-rank match guarantee a JoSAA seat?
No. A cutoff match is evidence from a completed allocation round, not a promise. Candidate eligibility, current seat availability, choice order, document verification and later official decisions remain decisive.
