NEET {{current-year}}: Changes in Location of Examination Centres of some candidates.
Last updated: April 20, 2026
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has changed the examination centre locations for some candidates registered for the NEET exam. These changes are due to measures implemented for the coronavirus epidemic. The NEET exam will be held on 13 September from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
On Thursday, the NTA issued a notice stating that affected candidates will be notified via SMS, email, and phone call. These candidates must download their revised admit card from the official NTA website, ntaneet.nic.in. Only the centre location has changed, not the city of examination.
A total of 15.97 lakh students are registered for NEET. All students should carefully read the guidelines on their admit card. The NTA has established several guidelines to prevent coronavirus infection. The NEET examination is conducted for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in medical colleges across the country.
The NTA has ensured that 99% of students have been allotted their first-priority exam centre. To make the JEE-NEET examinations safe and address candidate concerns, the NTA has issued new guidelines:
- During the NEET examination, only 12 candidates will sit in a classroom instead of 24.
- The number of NEET exam centres has been increased from 2,546 to 3,843.
- Examinees must maintain a distance of six feet from each other.
- Candidates with a body temperature above 99.4 degrees Fahrenheit will be taken to an isolation room to write the test.
- Frisking and document verification will be conducted inside the registration room.
- Candidates will be given a new mask at the examination centre. Only an admit card, ID proof, a water bottle, and hand sanitizer will be allowed inside.
- Wearing masks and gloves during the exam will not be mandatory.
- Every candidate must submit a self-declaration stating they are not COVID-19 positive and have not been in contact with any COVID-19 patient.
