For applicants entering after Class 12, BITS Pilani’s 2026-27 first-degree catalogue lists engineering, pharmacy and integrated M.Sc. choices at the Pilani campus. The published domestic first-degree fee schedule charges tuition by semester and lists hostel, mess and other advances separately. It is a dated schedule, not a fixed four- or five-year price: later-year tuition and term charges may be revised, and the published advances do not by themselves establish a student’s final living cost.

First-degree choices at Pilani

The 2026-27 brochure lists ten B.E. programmes: Chemical, Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Instrumentation, Electronics and Communication, Mathematics and Computing, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Environmental and Sustainability Engineering. It also lists B.Pharm. and seven M.Sc. subjects: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Semiconductor and Nanoscience, and General Studies. Confirm the current brochure before choosing preferences because this list is tied to the 2026-27 catalogue.

The normal route for B.E., M.Sc. and B.Pharm. is BITSAT. The first-degree admissions page also describes separate Board Topper and International Student pathways. These are distinct admission routes, so applicants should check the rules for the route they actually use rather than assuming one score or eligibility rule applies to every candidate.

The programme choice affects what a student studies and the path available after entry. BITS says M.Sc. entrants may compete after the first year for a second B.E. degree based on academic performance. That option is conditional: this page does not promise a second degree, name a guaranteed branch or assign it to every M.Sc. student. Applicants should review the institute’s current academic rules and avoid treating the possibility as a fixed five-year course or fee package.

Two semesters at the published tuition rate equal ₹5,83,000 in tuition for AY2026-27, before the separately listed admission fee, hostel, advances, annual charges or deposit. This arithmetic is only the first-year tuition component; it is not a total cost of attendance. The schedule states semester periods and one-time or annual labels as shown above, so keep those periods separate when planning cash flow.

The mess and electricity amount is an advance that the schedule describes as adjustable, not a guaranteed final bill. Hostel charges apply to on-campus students; the figures do not establish room availability or an individual allocation. The schedule also lists other advances and a caution deposit, but the captured notice does not specify here how every amount is settled or refunded. Ask the institute for the current payment instructions and applicable rules before treating a deposit or advance as refundable or as an expense that will not change.

What the schedule does not price

The figures above are for domestic first-degree students and the AY2026-27 schedule. They should not be applied automatically to higher-degree, doctoral, international-student or other admission categories. Nor should the first-year tuition rate be multiplied by four or five to estimate a degree total: the institute says tuition, term and hostel charges may be revised in later years. The schedule is not a guarantee that a later semester will use the same rate.

The published amount also does not provide a full individual budget for travel, books, personal spending, optional services or every dining expense. A semester advance is not necessarily the final amount consumed. Build a budget from the current official fee notice, the student’s actual campus and accommodation arrangement, and subsequent billing instructions. If the institute publishes a revised notice before payment, use the revision that applies to the student’s admission year and category.

Scholarships are separate from the fee schedule

BITS describes a tuition-blind award for the top 500 BITSAT-2026 rankers from families with annual income up to ₹20 lakh. The stated full-tuition benefit runs for four years subject to maintaining at least a 7.5 CGPA. Its merit scheme lists 100% tuition waivers for the top 2% and 50% for the next 1%; the merit-cum-need scheme lists waivers at several performance and need bands. Awards are made one semester at a time and remain subject to the institute’s performance and need rules.

These schemes can change the tuition burden for eligible recipients, but they do not change the published fee schedule for every student. Do not subtract a scholarship from a personal budget until the student meets the stated criteria and receives an award for the applicable semester. Use the 2026-27 first-degree brochure to confirm the programme catalogue and route, then check the official fee schedule for the exact admission year and student category.
