Scholarships announced for the 2027-29 intake
For applicants considering the two-year PGPM at IBS Mumbai, the latest published scholarship announcement is for the 2027-29 programme. IBS says it will offer 500 scholarships worth ₹2 lakh each, or ₹10 crore in total. The announcement covers candidates taking IBSAT in December 2026 and candidates applying with CAT, XAT, NMAT by GMAC or GMAT scores. The current official FAQ describes 400 awards for IBSAT top scorers and 100 for high scorers in those four national tests. These are figures for IBS’s stated scholarship pool, not a published Mumbai-only allocation. The official material reviewed does not say how many awards are reserved for each campus, so a Mumbai applicant should confirm the campus and programme against the final award terms.
IBS Mumbai is listed among the campuses offering the PGPM; the FAQ distinguishes that programme from the MBA offered at other IBS campuses. The scholarship blog names MBA/PGPM applicants for the 2027-29 intake, while the FAQ gives the 2026 test-specific award criteria. Read them together as the current published policy reference for this intake, not as a guaranteed amount for every Mumbai admit. The scholarship announcement does not state a separate Mumbai award count or promise that reaching a test threshold automatically produces an award.
Published score routes and criteria
The FAQ sets out a route for candidates using IBSAT and another for applicants with national-test scores. For the latter, the published thresholds are CAT at the 80th percentile or higher, XAT at the 80th percentile or higher, GMAT at 550 or above, and NMAT by GMAC at 225 or above. The FAQ describes IBSAT awards as going to top rankers across the scheduled test dates, but it does not publish a numerical IBSAT rank or score threshold. A candidate should therefore not convert “top rankers” into an assumed percentile or cutoff.
These scholarship criteria are separate from admission eligibility and selection. They are not the admission cutoff for IBS Mumbai PGPM, nor do the cited pages say that a scholarship score by itself secures admission. Applicants should still meet the programme’s admission requirements, complete the selection process and receive a written scholarship decision. Keep the score report for the exact exam and test year used in the application; if applying through an alternate exam, check that the score remains valid under the admissions rules for that cycle.
IBSAT 2026 schedule shown in the FAQ
The official FAQ states that 400 scholarships are reserved for IBSAT top scorers and lists four December weekend pairs, with 100 scholarships assigned to each listed pair:
There is a wording detail worth checking before relying on this table. The same FAQ refers to eight test dates, but displays the awards as four paired-date sets. It does not explain whether each candidate is ranked within an individual day or across the weekend pair. The safest reading is that the FAQ allocates 100 awards to each listed set; it does not establish a separate 100-award pool for each individual test date. Confirm the final schedule and award notice with IBS before making a financial plan.
What a Mumbai applicant should confirm
The published ₹2 lakh amount is the stated scholarship value per award. The sources reviewed do not specify whether Mumbai awards are paid as a single credit or in instalments, whether an award is applied to tuition only, what documentation is required after selection, or whether an award can be combined with any other concession. Do not subtract ₹2 lakh from the IBS Mumbai programme fee until IBS confirms the award in writing and explains how it is credited. The fee page and scholarship amount answer different questions: one is the programme charge, the other is a potential award subject to its terms.
Before accepting an offer, ask the admissions office to confirm four points in writing: that your exact score and test year qualify; the number of awards available to Mumbai PGPM candidates; the selection and notification process for the award; and the payment schedule or fee component against which the award is adjusted. Keep the application acknowledgement, score report, offer letter and scholarship communication together. If your score is close to the published threshold, verify the percentile or score as displayed by the test authority rather than estimating it from a raw mark.
The scholarship page is a current reference for the announced 2027-29 intake, but this is a changing award policy. Recheck the official IBS Admissions FAQs and the 2027-29 scholarship announcement before applying and again when an offer is issued. If either page is updated, follow the newer written notice for your campus and cycle. No campus-specific Mumbai quota or award disbursement conditions are established by the material cited here.
