Current admission cycle
IIIT Delhi’s 2027-28 BTech admission schedule was not present in the official pages reviewed for this update. The institute’s 2026-27 admissions cycle is closed, so its dates below are a guide to how last year’s routes were organized, not a timetable for the next intake. Recheck the official BTech admissions page and the JAC Delhi portal when the 2027 notice appears.
IIIT Delhi offered nine BTech programmes in the 2026 information set: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), Computer Science and Applied Mathematics (CSAM), Computer Science and Biosciences (CSB), Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (CSAI), Electronics and VLSI Engineering (EVE), Computer Science and Design (CSD), Computer Science and Social Sciences (CSSS), and Computer Science and Economics (CSEcon). The programme list and admission pathway depend on the cycle, so use the new brochure to confirm names, seats and eligibility before applying.
How the 2026-27 routes worked
For the 2026-27 intake, most BTech seats were handled through Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) Delhi using the JEE Main 2026 NTA score. The official institute page also described additional IIIT Delhi admission routes for selected seats in CSD and CSSS. CSD applicants could use UCEED 2026 for a specified route; the CSSS direct route used Class XII marks for eligible Delhi-school applicants. These were distinct from JAC counselling, and the rules must be checked again for 2027-28.
The 2026 eligibility table required at least 70% in Mathematics and at least 70% aggregate across the best five subjects for the listed pathways. JAC applicants also needed the prescribed subject combination and JEE Main 2026 score. The direct CSD/CSSS categories had their own location, exam or Class XII conditions. Do not treat these thresholds as a substitute for the 2027 brochure: board-equivalence rules, seat counts, bonus-point conditions and route availability can change. See the institute’s 2026 application procedure and CSD/CSSS admissions notice for the prior-cycle details.
Dates and application status
The institute’s 2026 admissions page records the prior JAC cycle as concluded. The separate CSD/CSSS application window had a final date of 7 June 2026. The institute announced first-round direct-process results and cutoffs on 11 June, followed by a second round on 19 June. These dates describe the prior intake and must not be carried forward as 2027-28 deadlines.
No 2027-28 application opening date, counselling calendar or final deadline is established by the 2026 sources captured here. Once the new notice is published, check whether your route is JAC Delhi or an institute-managed CSD/CSSS option, then follow that route’s own registration, documents, payment and allotment instructions. The institute’s 2026 applicant portal listed a ₹300 application fee; confirm any new-cycle amount before paying.
A practical checklist
- Wait for the 2027-28 information brochure and verify that the programme and route are offered in that intake.
- Confirm the accepted examination year, subject combination, minimum marks, school-location rules and any bonus-point documentation.
- Register on the correct portal, use an email address you can access and upload the requested files in the required format.
- Track counselling, allotment, fee payment and document-verification notices on the same official channel.
IIIT Delhi’s 2026 FAQ said the institute has no management quota. The applicant portal listed a ₹300 fee and asked applicants to activate an account using an email address before completing the form. Those are prior-cycle details; verify the next notice and current payment instructions before acting.
Before you submit, keep your route-specific documents together: the required entrance score or school marks, proof of the subjects studied, school-location evidence when a route requires it, and any bonus-point documents named in the current brochure. Check the exact file format and verification deadline in the notice. If you are comparing previous cutoffs, match the programme, route, round and category carefully; an old closing rank is a reference point, not a promise of admission in the next cycle. After a seat offer, follow the official channel for the exact acceptance payment and document-verification steps. Use the 2027-28 notice for those instructions rather than a saved 2026-27 form.
Choosing the right route for the 2026 intake
For the 2026-27 intake, these routes were not interchangeable:
The institute’s 2026 procedure listed 70% in Mathematics and 70% across the best five subjects for the routes shown. The direct Class XII category had additional restrictions: it applied to eligible Delhi-school applicants and did not replace JAC for candidates whose subject combination required the JAC route. The CSD UCEED option also had its own schooling condition. Check the relevant row in the new brochure instead of assuming that one route’s conditions apply to every programme.
