What JIMS currently publishes about aid
JIMS Rohini’s official scholarship page describes a Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for Batch 2026–28. It says the scheme is for students in the first and second year of PGDM, PGDM–International Business (PGDM–IB) and PGDM–Retail Management (PGDM–RM). The page lists four categories, each with a different eligibility basis. It says a student may avail any one of Categories I–IV, so treat the options as alternatives rather than stackable discounts.
The institute’s admissions page separately advertises PGDM admissions for Batch 2027–29. The scholarship page reviewed here still carries the earlier 2026–28 heading. That means the listed awards are useful for understanding the scheme’s design, but they are not a confirmed 2027–29 promise. Check for a new notice or obtain written confirmation for the batch before reducing your budget by an award amount.
The four published categories and their stated amounts
The cut-offs in Category I are transcribed as JIMS presents them. The page uses “above” and “between” around the band edges, so a score exactly at 85 or 90 percentile is not resolved clearly by the wording. Ask the scholarship office how boundary scores are treated before assuming qualification. For Category III, the condition is above 80% in all three listed stages, not an average across them. Category II gives two possible test routes, MAT above 700 or CMAT above 90%; the page does not say those scores can be combined.
Category IV is a percentage of tuition fee, not of every amount a student pays. The published fee schedule lists a total programme fee and separately names alumni membership and refundable security, but does not break out a tuition-only base for calculating the EWS award. Do not apply 20% to the entire payable amount without a written calculation from JIMS.
One category only and documentation
The scholarship page says applicants can avail any one category among I, II, III and IV. A student who appears eligible under more than one route should compare them and ask which single option can be selected. The page also makes awards subject to submitting documents and verification by the concerned authority. It does not say that meeting a score or marks threshold automatically secures an award, nor does it publish the number of awards available.
For an application, prepare evidence matching the category: the official entrance-score record for CAT, XAT, MAT or CMAT; marksheets for Class 10, Class 12 and graduation; or the EWS certificate and income proof for Category IV. This is a practical document checklist based on the criteria shown, not a separate official list of accepted documents. Confirm the required format, issuing authority and submission channel with JIMS before sending personal records.
Academic conditions after admission
The published page adds conditions beyond entry eligibility. It requires at least 60% in past academics. During the programme, students must maintain at least 65% aggregate in each trimester examination, complete it within the specified timeframe, have no back paper and maintain at least 75% attendance in each trimester. A candidate awarded a scholarship at admission may receive it only for those later trimesters in which the stated conditions are met.
These rules make the scholarship a conditional contribution to costs rather than guaranteed money for the full programme. Keep the undiscounted fee available in your budget until each instalment and scholarship amount is formally confirmed. The page does not give an appeal process, a grace rule for illness, or a treatment for a delayed examination; do not assume an exception.
Disbursement and withdrawal
JIMS says verified scholarship amounts are disbursed in the second, third and fourth fee instalments after the listed conditions are met. The notice therefore does not promise an award deduction from the first admission payment. Applicants should plan to meet that first payment on the normal schedule unless their offer letter expressly states otherwise.
The notice also says that if a student withdraws after the second, third or fourth instalment, the scholarship amount may have to be returned or deducted from any applicable refund under the rules. Before accepting an award, request the written withdrawal/refund policy and ask how the disbursed amount will be calculated if a student leaves partway through the course. The current page does not provide a numerical refund formula.
What to confirm for the 2027–29 intake
The admissions page shows a 2027–29 PGDM intake, but the scholarship notice available in this review is labelled 2026–28. No 2027–29 award schedule, application deadline, form link, disbursement calendar or current boundary clarification is established by that older notice. Before counting assistance toward affordability, ask JIMS to confirm the next batch’s eligible programmes, award amounts, score editions, document rules, application dates, one-category restriction, continuation criteria and payment timing.
If you receive confirmation, compare the award’s timing with each fee due date and keep living costs separate. Save the dated notice or written response with your offer documents. Until then, use the published 2026–28 categories as a historical guide to what JIMS has offered, not as a guaranteed reduction to your 2027–29 bill.
