LBSIM’s published admission cycle is 2027–29. At the 6 November 2026 check, the institute described applications for all PGDM programmes as open. Its current admissions page identifies CAT 2026 as the primary test route, with XAT 2027 and GMAT also accepted. The institute requires a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% from a recognised university. It does not publish a numeric cutoff on the cycle page: cutoffs are programme-specific and announced each cycle.
LBSIM PGDM eligibility for 2027–29
For the four full-time PGDM programmes listed by LBSIM—General, Financial Management, Research & Business Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence & Data Science—the published baseline is a bachelor’s degree with a minimum 50% from a recognised university and a valid CAT 2026, XAT 2027, or GMAT score. Read this as LBSIM’s stated programme eligibility, not as a prediction of the score needed to be shortlisted. The current admissions page does not provide a minimum CAT or XAT percentile, a sectional threshold, or a programme-wise numeric cutoff.
Candidates should check the programme-specific prospectus and the live application form before submitting. The official LBSIM FAQ states that applicants may list multiple programmes through one application and that CAT 2025 is not accepted for the 2027–29 cycle. It also says a candidate may apply with XAT or GMAT without CAT, and that a CAT score can be updated after results if the candidate applies earlier. The admissions page is the current cycle reference for accepted test editions; do not substitute an older score or assume another exam is accepted because it appears at a similar management school.
Entrance tests and dates
LBSIM calls CAT 2026 its primary route for the 2027–29 PGDM cohort. Its admissions page lists CAT 2026 registration from 3 August to 22 September 2026, with the examination scheduled for 29 November 2026. The same page lists XAT 2027 registration through 6 December 2026 and the examination on 3 January 2027, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The key-dates block shows GMAT forms as open at the 6 November 2026 check, but it does not assign a single test date there. These are entrance-test dates shown by LBSIM; they are not the closing date for the separate LBSIM application.
Before relying on an exam date, check the relevant official test website for a later notice. The admissions information reviewed here does not state a final form-submission deadline. Its application-fee change date is not a substitute for that deadline. If you are waiting for CAT results, use the institute’s published option to apply first and update the score later, then confirm the score-update instructions inside the live form.
How to apply
- Choose the programmes you want considered. Review the four PGDM options and arrange your preferences in the order requested by the form. LBSIM’s FAQ says one application can cover multiple programmes; the institute may ask you to set the preference order there.
- Open the LBSIM application portal. The admissions page directs applicants to register online, create an account, and submit academic and entrance-exam details. Keep the LBSIM form separate from CAT or XAT registration: registering for an exam does not itself complete the institute application.
- Enter your qualifying-degree information. The stated threshold is at least 50% in a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. Follow the form’s own instructions for marks, grades, equivalence, and supporting records; this page does not specify how every grading format is converted.
- Submit the test information. Use the accepted current-cycle CAT 2026, XAT 2027, or GMAT route. If your CAT result is not yet available, the FAQ says candidates may apply before results and update the score once released. Keep your test registration and LBSIM application details aligned.
- Pay the application fee shown for your submission date. The FAQ states ₹1,500 up to 15 November 2026 under its early-application benefit and ₹2,200 after that date, payable once even when applying to multiple programmes. Confirm the live portal amount before payment in case the institute updates its terms.
- Monitor the application account and institute communications. LBSIM describes the sequence as application, entrance-score submission, composite-score shortlisting, Extempore and Personal Interview, then an offer based on merit. The page says shortlisted candidates attend the Extempore and PI at the Delhi campus. Keep contact details active and follow any instructions attached to a shortlist or interview notice.
Shortlisting, interview and offers
LBSIM says shortlisting uses a composite score and that cutoffs are programme-specific and announced each cycle. It does not give the 2027–29 numeric cutoff or a formula on the current admissions page. The official FAQ contains broader explanations of selection, but prospective applicants should use the cycle-specific notice for exact weights and avoid treating an old or general percentage as a confirmed rule for this cohort.
Candidates shortlisted for the next stage appear for an Extempore and Personal Interview at the Delhi campus. The current admissions page does not specify a fixed interview date, a required presentation topic, or the exact scoring breakdown for either component. Prepare to explain your academic choices, test performance, interests, and reasons for selecting particular programmes, but check the interview invitation for the actual format and logistics.
The final offer is merit-based. An offer is not the same as a completed admission: LBSIM says candidates secure their seat by paying the required fee within the deadline stated with the offer. Read the offer carefully for the payment date, document verification steps, programme allocation, and refund terms. Do not infer that an application-fee date or an entrance-exam date is the seat-confirmation deadline.
What to verify before submitting
Use this short checklist as a practical preparation aid, not as a substitute for the institute’s document list:
- Confirm that your bachelor’s degree and marks meet the published 50% eligibility threshold.
- Decide which of the four PGDM programmes you want and the preference order you will enter.
- Check that your score is from an accepted edition: CAT 2026, XAT 2027, or an eligible GMAT score as defined in the live LBSIM instructions.
- Keep academic and test details available for the form; use the portal’s exact requirements for uploads and grade conversion.
- Confirm the application fee displayed for the date you apply and save the transaction confirmation.
- Recheck the admissions page, applicant account, and official messages for shortlist, Extempore/PI, and offer deadlines.
Frequently asked questions
Is CAT compulsory for LBSIM PGDM admission in 2027–29?
No. LBSIM names CAT 2026 as the primary route and also accepts XAT 2027 and GMAT. Its FAQ says candidates can apply with XAT or GMAT without CAT. Use the current application instructions for the score-upload process.
What CAT percentile is required?
The official 2027–29 admissions page does not publish a numeric percentile. It says cutoffs are programme-specific and announced each cycle. A number quoted for a previous year or another programme should not be treated as this cycle’s cutoff.
Does the application close on 15 November 2026?
The official FAQ uses 15 November 2026 as the end of the ₹1,500 early-application fee period; it lists ₹2,200 after that date. The admissions material reviewed here does not identify 15 November as the final application deadline. Check the live form for the actual closing date.
Can I submit my application before CAT results?
The LBSIM FAQ says candidates may apply before CAT results and update the score once it is released. Follow the portal’s current instructions for updating it.
What happens after shortlisting?
The current cycle page says shortlisted candidates attend an Extempore and Personal Interview at the Delhi campus. It does not publish a cohort-specific date or a complete assessment rubric in the material reviewed here.
