MNNIT Allahabad Scholarships: institute, state and national aid
MNNIT does not rely on one all-purpose scholarship. Its Student Welfare Office (SWO) lists institute awards, government schemes, external foundation programmes and postgraduate fellowships, while the institute notice board carries cycle-specific calls. Eligibility, amount, renewal and deadline depend on the individual scheme. Use this page to identify likely routes, then apply only against the current notice and the provider’s own rules.
Where to start
Begin with the SWO’s Scholarship and Fellowship page and the institute Notice Board. The SWO page says students must follow the scholarship provider’s guidelines and complete the institute undertaking required for applicants. The Student Welfare forms page lists DSW-03, an undertaking for scholarship applicants, and DSW-04, an undertaking for stipendiary M.Tech students. DSW-03 says a student who receives scholarships, fellowships or stipends from more than one agency must retain only one and return the rest, subject to the applicable programme ordinance and agency rules. Confirm how that rule applies before accepting overlapping support.
For government schemes, the SWO directs students to the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), state portals and relevant agencies. It also says students from other states should check their own state’s post-matric scheme. The Uttar Pradesh portal was not accessible during this review, so no UP eligibility, amount or deadline is stated here. The institute’s portal lists applications and verification steps for different schemes; its student login and institute verification are separate stages. Read the scheme specification and FAQ, check whether MNNIT is an eligible institution for that scheme, and keep copies of the application and acknowledgement.
Institute support and fellowships
The SWO page lists a Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship for B.Tech students. It describes an award of ₹20,833 per student for the top 10% of sanctioned seats, using CPI for second-, third- and fourth-year students and JEE Main rank for first-year students. Treat these as the conditions and amount shown on the current SWO listing, not a guarantee of selection or proof that the amount is unchanged for a particular year. Confirm the current institute notice, sanctioned-seat basis, application form and selection calendar with SWO.
The same page lists a government fellowship of ₹12,400 per month for stipendiary M.Tech students, and a Ph.D. fellowship of ₹37,000 per month in the first two years and ₹42,000 per month after satisfactory review, for up to five years. Those figures appear on the SWO webpage without a separate effective-date label. Verify the relevant programme ordinance, funding rules and current fellowship notice before relying on them for a new intake. A fellowship attached to a qualifying M.Tech or Ph.D. position is different from a scholarship available to all students in that degree.
The SWO listing also names the G.K. Agrawal and Padmavati Scholarship for eligible first-year Civil and Mechanical Engineering students, with family income below ₹6 lakh and AIR within 20,000; the Satya Vijay Scholarship for MBA students with family income below ₹1.5 lakh and a minimum CPI of 7.0; and external awards including OP Jindal, Shraman Foundation and Rupa Rahul Bajaj. The page’s summary may not include every current condition. For example, the MNNIT notice board has a G.K. Agrawal and Padmavati Scholarship notice for 2026-27, and separate 2026-27 notices for several external programmes. Follow the notice or application form for the year you are applying, not a summary copied from an older cycle.
External awards and category-based schemes
On its 28 September 2026 update, the MNNIT Notice Board listed 2026 or 2026-27 calls including Tata AIG for girl students, Legrand Empowering Scholarship, Shraman Foundation, Swami Dayanand Education Foundation, Reliance Foundation undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships, Foundation for Excellence, OP Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarships, and the Rupa Rahul Bajaj Scholarship for Women in Engineering. It also linked a 2026-27 NSP schedule, MNNIT financial-assistance notices, a scholarship application process notice, and scheme-specific notices for SC, ST, OBC, EBC, DNT and students with disabilities.
These names are a dated notice-board snapshot, not a promise that every scheme remains open or that every MNNIT student qualifies. The provider may restrict an award by degree, branch, gender, domicile, family income, category, academic record or other conditions. Some calls are administered by the institute; others require direct application to an outside foundation. Check who accepts the application, whether a hard copy or recommendation is needed, and which forms must be routed through the department, Dean (Student Welfare) or Dean (Academics).
For a concrete example, an MNNIT Alumni Association notice dated 1 July 2026 invited undergraduate applicants for three kinds of support: an EWS-General financial-assistance award, a need-based award for bright students facing financial adversity, and merit or merit-cum-means scholarships. It set 30 August 2026 as the deadline for that specific call and required forms to be recommended and forwarded by the department head, Dean (Student Welfare) and Dean (Academics). That deadline has passed; the notice is useful as a process example, not an open application. Future calls may use different forms or dates.
NSP applications and timing
The NSP page identifies the academic year as 2026-27 and requires a One Time Registration (OTR) for applications. Its scheme list includes, among others, top-class education schemes for SC, OBC, EBC and DNT students; scholarships for students with disabilities; PM-USP; and schemes for ST and North-Eastern Region students. Eligibility and available support differ by scheme. The portal’s announcement and scheme-detail pages do not show a single universal deadline: some student dates are scheme-specific and may differ from institute verification dates. Check the exact scheme card, specifications, FAQ and application status on NSP before submitting. Do not infer that a renewal date applies to a fresh applicant.
The portal also says students may apply for one merit-based scheme and one or more welfare-based schemes for AY 2026-27, subject to each scheme’s eligibility criteria. MNNIT’s DSW-03 undertaking, however, says a student receiving support from multiple agencies must retain only one scholarship, fellowship or stipend. Because these statements come from different levels of policy, do not assume either allows automatic stacking. Confirm the exact overlap with the scheme provider and institute before accepting an award.
A practical application checklist
- Identify the award’s provider, eligible degree and current academic year; do not rely on an old SWO summary alone.
- Read the provider’s eligibility, income and category rules, benefit amount, renewal conditions, documents and deadline.
- Check the current MNNIT Notice Board and ask SWO whether an institute undertaking, department recommendation, hard copy or institute verification is required.
- For NSP, complete OTR, submit the correct fresh or renewal application, and track both student and institute verification stages.
- Disclose other awards and obtain written guidance on any overlap before accepting or retaining money.
- Keep the submitted form, income/category certificates, academic record, bank details and acknowledgement. Confirm payment status with the provider rather than assuming that application or verification means an award has been sanctioned.
Scholarship information changes during the year. For a current application, use the linked official notice and provider page as the controlling documents; contact the Dean (Student Welfare) office if the route, stacking rule or documentation is unclear.
