Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University (SKRAU), Bikaner
The notification for Rajasthan JET 2026 came out on 13 April 2026. The application window opened on 18 April 2026 and closes on 17 May 2026 - or 20 May 2026 if you pay the ₹500 late fee.
That means if you are reading this in mid-May, you have days, not weeks, to act.
Rajasthan JET (Joint Entrance Test) 2026 is the state-level entrance examination for admission to undergraduate agriculture and allied science programmes offered by Rajasthan's five state agricultural universities and multiple private universities. The exam is conducted this year by Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University (SKRAU), Bikaner.
Here is everything the official notification says about eligibility - category by category, number by number, with nothing added and nothing assumed.
The eligibility rules for Rajasthan JET 2026 are published in the official information brochure available at jetskrau2026.com. The English version of the notification is considered authoritative in case of any discrepancy with the Hindi version.
A warning the brochure repeats more than once: appearing in the exam, qualifying, and even being allotted a college does not mean your eligibility is confirmed. If a non-eligible candidate is admitted by any oversight, the admission will be cancelled as soon as the mistake is detected - even at a later stage.
Check every criterion yourself. Do not delegate this to an e-Mitra kiosk, a coaching institute, or anyone else.
The official numbers are:
Category-wise age relaxation is not explicitly mentioned in the notification for age limits. The same limits apply across all categories.
This is where most eligibility errors happen. Read carefully.
You must have passed the senior secondary (10+2) examination from the Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan, Ajmer, or any other recognised statutory board. Students from the arts and commerce streams are not eligible.
The qualifying examination must include subjects from the science or agriculture stream. The accepted subject combinations differ by the programme you are targeting.
For B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture / Horticulture / Forestry / Food Nutrition and Dietetics / Community Science / Home Science / B.F.Sc. (Fisheries Science):
You need any of the following combinations: ABC (Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry), PCM, PCB, PCMB, or PCA (Physics, Chemistry, Agriculture).
For B.Tech. (Food Technology):
Out of the five subjects (Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics), only the combinations PCM, PCB, PCMB, or PCA are eligible.
For B.Tech. (Dairy Technology):
Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) are mandatory at the 12th standard level. No substitute combination is accepted.
A critical rule the notification emphasises: you must attempt the JET examination only in the three subjects you actually studied in Class 12. If you attempt a subject you did not study at the 12th level, your admission will be rejected - even if the discrepancy is caught at the college level during physical document verification.
Minimum marks in Class 12:
Candidates availing the 5% relaxation will not be considered under the unreserved category for seat allocation.
Candidates who have a supplementary (compartment) in their Class 12 board examination 2026 are not eligible for JET.
Rajasthan JET is open primarily to candidates with a Rajasthan domicile. However, 50% of seats in private universities are open to candidates from other states as well.
The notification lists eight criteria under which you can claim Rajasthan domicile. You need to satisfy only one of them:
Criteria I: You hold a valid Rajasthan domicile certificate.
Criteria II: You have studied continuously for the last three years as a regular student in a recognised institution in Rajasthan - meaning you passed Class 10, Class 11, and Class 12 (in the qualifying subjects) from schools located in Rajasthan.
Criteria III: Your natural father or mother has been continuously residing in Rajasthan for the last 10 years, and you have studied for at least 5 years during this period in a recognised educational institution in Rajasthan.
Criteria IV: You are a bonafide resident of Rajasthan, even if you are currently studying in another state.
Criteria V: You are the son or daughter of a serving or retired employee of: (a) the Government of Rajasthan and All India Services officers of the Rajasthan state cadre; or (b) undertakings, corporations, improvement trusts, or municipal bodies constituted by the Government of Rajasthan; or (c) any state university in Rajasthan or the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan - provided the employee has worked in Rajasthan for three years preceding the last date of application submission.
Criteria VI: You are the son or daughter of a permanent serving or retired employee of the Indian Defence Service (Army/Navy/Air Force) who is either of Rajasthan origin or is posted in Rajasthan at the time of the last date of application. If the personnel is of Rajasthan origin, a certificate from the employer confirming the state of origin at the time of entry into service is required.
Criteria VII: You are the son or daughter of a serving or retired employee of the paramilitary forces of India, with the same Rajasthan origin or posting conditions as above, along with the requisite employer certificate.
Criteria VIII: You are the son, daughter, or wife of a serving or retired employee of the Rajasthan Police of Rajasthan origin, irrespective of the place of posting.
If you do not satisfy any of these domicile criteria, your application will be considered under the unreserved/general category. You will not be able to claim reservation benefits, reduced application fees, or allotment to government colleges under any reserved category.
If you have appeared for your Class 12 examination in 2026 and your results have not been declared before the JET examination commences, you are provisionally allowed to appear. However, you must produce the marksheet of Class 12 with all subjects passed at the time of filling the option form for counselling, and it must be submitted when reporting to the allotted college.
The notification does not specify a cap on the number of attempts. As long as you meet the age limit (16 to 25 years as on 31 August 2026) and the educational qualification criteria, you can appear. If you age out or no longer meet the qualifying year requirements, you cannot apply regardless of how many times you have taken the exam before.
Seat reservation follows the rules of the Government of Rajasthan and is adopted by the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs). The official brochure specifies these requirements for category certificates:
The notification also includes a detailed reservation priority order for wards of defence, paramilitary, and police personnel, ranging from Priority I (widows/wards of personnel killed in action) to Priority V (wards of serving personnel receiving gallantry awards).

The question paper contains five subjects: Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Each subject has 40 multiple-choice questions. You must attempt only three subjects out of five - the subjects must correspond to those you studied in Class 12.
For B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) candidates, the three subjects are fixed - you must attempt Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics only.
Before you start filling the online form at jetskrau2026.com, keep these documents ready:
The photograph you upload must be the same one you carry to the exam centre and produce at the time of counselling and college reporting.
After the result is declared on 9 July 2026, eligible candidates will participate in online counselling. The key steps:
The ₹5,000 option form fee is adjusted against tuition fees. The ₹1,200 is non-refundable and retained as counselling processing fees. If you do not get any college in your option form, the ₹5,000 is refunded.
UG counselling typically starts in November 2026, with multiple allotment rounds running through December.
Based on the first counselling round cutoff data from the previous cycle, here is a realistic picture of what it takes to secure government college seats.
| College | UR Cutoff (approx. range) |
|---|---|
| Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur | 310-320 |
| College of Agriculture, Jodhpur | 283-320 |
| College of Agriculture, Bikaner | 290-321 |
| College of Agriculture, Kota | 282-317 |
| College of Agriculture, Fatehpur Shekhawati | 295-297 |
| College of Agriculture, Nagaur | 294-297 |
| College of Agriculture, Sumerpur | 298-299 |
| College of Agriculture, Bhilwara | 269-310 |
| College of Agriculture, Lalsot | 295-306 |

| Govt. College, Uniara, Tonk | 240 |
| SCRS Govt. PG College, Sawai Madhopur | 242-244 |
For private university seats, cutoffs drop sharply - many fall below 100 marks for the unreserved category.
Cutoffs vary by round, category, and gender. The single most decisive factor is your JET score. The merit list is prepared purely on the basis of marks obtained in the examination.
The application window closes on 17 May 2026. If you are yet to apply:
If you miss the 17 May deadline, you have until 20 May with a ₹500 late fee. After that, the window closes entirely.
For those who have already applied: the admit card will be available for download from 16 June 2026. The exam is on 21 June 2026. You need to reach the exam centre between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM. No entry after 10:30 AM. No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall during the exam. No re-examination will be held for anyone who misses the scheduled date and time.
