The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a national-level entrance test conducted annually by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, SFIs, and other Engineering/Architecture institutes is based on the JEE Main examination. The exam has two phases: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. You must pass JEE Main to be eligible for JEE Advanced.
The notification for Joint Entrance Examination 2020 has been issued. Candidates can apply for JEE (Main) on the official website (jeemain.nic.in) from 1 September to 30 September 2019. The examination will be conducted online only from 6 to 14 January 2020. A second exam will be held between 9 and 20 April 2020. The application form for this second session will be available online on 8 February 2020, with a last date of 7 March 2019. Following JEE (Main), JEE Advanced 2020 will be conducted.

Eligibility for JEE Main:
The eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2020 are given below.
- Students must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English.
- There is no minimum percentage required in the 12th standard to write JEE Main. Students only need to have passed the exam.
- Students who passed 10+2 in 2018 and 2019 can appear for JEE Main 2020.
- Students appearing for their 12th examination in 2020 can also apply.
Age Criteria: Only students born on or after 1 October 1995 are eligible.
- There is a five-year relaxation in the age limit for students belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, and Persons with Disabilities categories.
Number of Attempts: Students can attempt the JEE Main exam a maximum of three times. Students can attempt the JEE Advanced exam only twice in consecutive years.
Eligibility for admission in IIT, NIT, CFTIs: For admission, students must either secure 75% marks in the 12th standard (65% for SC/ST) or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective board's 12th examination.
