Delhi School of Economics (DSE) operates from within the North Campus of the University of Delhi. The physical environment is highly focused on research, data analysis, and academic discourse. For prospective students, the primary practical considerations are the strength of the research libraries, the availability of specialized software in the computer labs, and the highly competitive, merit-based allocation for university accommodation.

Ratan Tata Library (RTL)

The Ratan Tata Library is the central academic facility at DSE and serves as a major resource for economics, sociology, and geography students.

• Collections: The library holds over 3,00,000 volumes and maintains more than 1,30,000 bound periodicals. It operates as a designated depository for publications from the United Nations and other international agencies.
• Digital Infrastructure: An e-library section provides 64 active terminals for accessing online catalogues (WebOPAC), e-journals, and databases such as JSTOR and EconLit through the Delhi University Library System.
• Accessibility: The library includes dedicated terminals configured exclusively for differently-abled users.

IT Infrastructure and Classrooms

DSE departments provide computer labs specifically equipped for quantitative and qualitative analysis.

• Software: Workstations include licenses for specialized statistical and econometric software required for coursework, including STATA, GAUSS, EViews, and Scientific Workplace.
• Academic Spaces: Departments utilise smart classrooms and seminar rooms fitted with multimedia systems for daily lectures. Larger academic events, guest lectures, and corporate interactions are hosted in the renovated Swami Vivekananda Hall or the main University of Delhi Convention Centre.

Hostel Accommodation

DSE does not maintain exclusive residential facilities for its students. Admitted candidates must apply separately for accommodation in the University of Delhi postgraduate hostels.

• Allocation Constraints: Hostel seats are strictly limited and awarded based on admission merit and distance from the student's home residence. Admission to a DSE programme does not guarantee a hostel seat, requiring many students to secure private accommodation in nearby areas like Kamla Nagar or GTB Nagar.
• Men's Hostels: Options include the P.G. Men's Hostel, Gwyer Hall, D.S. Kothari Hostel, Jubilee Hall, V.K.R.V. Rao Hall, International Students House, and Mansarovar Hostel.
• Women's Hostels: Options include the University Hostel for Women, Meghdoot Hostel, and Rajiv Gandhi Girls Hostel.

Campus Dining

The DSE Canteen is a well-known fixture on the North Campus, operating as the primary social and dining space for students and faculty. It offers subsidized meals and serves as an informal venue for academic discussions.
