DAU’s 2026-27 All India B.Tech notice lists tuition at ₹1,92,500 per semester. It separately lists a ₹2,500 registration fee per semester and a refundable ₹25,000 caution deposit, refundable at the end of the programme under the stated conditions. The notice says the initial counselling payment is one semester’s tuition plus the deposit, or ₹2,17,500; the registration fee appears separately in the fee table. Read these as different charges, not as one recurring “annual tuition” figure. Official All India B.Tech admissions and fee structure
The notice says subsequent fees are charged semester-wise, with registration at the beginning of each semester. It also says this fee structure has been submitted to the State Government’s Appellate Committee for consideration and is subject to 8–10% revision each academic year. That qualification matters: ₹1,92,500 is the listed 2026-27 semester tuition, not a guaranteed rate for every semester of a four-year degree and not an approved 2027-28 quote. A student comparing offers should obtain the currently applicable schedule and payment deadlines from the university before accepting a seat.
The university FAQ confirms the counselling-stage amount of ₹2,17,500 and that the application fee for the 2026-27 All India process was ₹1,500 plus 18% GST, totaling ₹1,770, non-refundable. The application charge is not tuition and is paid at a different stage. The admissions cycle is closed; do not use an old payment portal or assume that fee amounts stay constant for the next intake. See the B.Tech FAQ alongside the detailed table so the components are not conflated.
For the 2026-27 All India notice, hostel rent is listed as ₹37,800 per semester. Food is charged on actuals, with an approximate expense of ₹5,500 per month. These amounts are separate from tuition and registration. Ask DAU for the current hostel allotment terms, payment timing, inclusions, refund rules and mess arrangements; the published figures do not establish a 2027-28 price or a fixed full-year food bill.
The fee notice identifies extra value-added charges for B.Tech Electronics and VLSI Design (EVD): ₹18,000 for the SHILP device-fabrication and characterization course after the second semester, and around ₹25,000 for the fourth-semester VLSI chip design and fabrication course. It says these are paid alongside the relevant semester tuition and that any additional value-added course and fee would be communicated in advance. These are programme-specific items, not charges for every B.Tech student. Confirm the current brochure and cohort schedule before including them in an offer comparison.
A reliable budget should separate at least four kinds of outlay: tuition and recurring semester registration; refundable deposits; residence and food; and course-specific or optional charges. Also ask about travel, personal expenses and any other required charges listed in the current admission documents. Do not treat the counselling payment as a full first-year amount: it combines the first-semester tuition and caution deposit, while other items have their own basis and timing.
The fee page says the academic fee may be revised by 8–10% each year. Therefore, multiplying the current semester tuition by eight would assume that the 2026-27 rate remains unchanged for four years, contrary to the notice’s revision statement. This profile does not publish a single four-year total from that multiplication. The actual sum depends on approved annual rates, registration, deposits, programme, residence choice, food usage, any value-added courses and any scholarship for which a student qualifies.
For a planning estimate, ask DAU for the approved rate for each coming semester or year and mark later years as estimates rather than fixed commitments. Keep tuition, registration, hostel rent, food, refundable deposit and programme extras in separate rows. State the source date, whether an item recurs, who pays it and whether it is refundable. If a scholarship is considered, deduct it only after checking the current eligibility and renewal conditions. An institutional scholarship page describes awards, but an award based on semester performance is not an automatic discount for every incoming student. See the scholarships directory and the B.Tech scholarship rules.
DAU’s scholarship page says its B.Tech merit and merit-cum-means scheme took effect from the 2025-26 batch. It describes up to 33 awards in a batch: five full-semester-tuition merit awards for students with SPI 8.5/10 or above; eight 70% merit-cum-means awards for eligible students with SPI at least 6.5/10 and annual family income below ₹6 lakh; and twenty 50% awards for eligible students with SPI at least 6.5/10 and income below ₹8 lakh. The rules also require students to pass all credit courses without backlogs or a disciplinary case and to meet the criteria each semester. Awards are limited and performance-based; they should not be counted as guaranteed first-year financial support. Check the current policy and all documentation requirements before relying on an award.
Before accepting an offer, request the current official fee schedule for your admission category and programme. Confirm the amount due immediately, the deadline, whether the deposit is refundable and under what conditions, and whether a registration fee is part of the same payment. Ask how the 8–10% revision clause is applied and whether the fee schedule has received final approval. For hostel residents, verify the current rent, room allocation, meal billing and refund terms. For EVD applicants, confirm that the stated value-added courses and charges apply to the relevant batch. For scholarship applicants, obtain the latest eligibility, selection, renewal and non-combination rules in writing.
The 2026-27 All India fee table should not be applied automatically to Gujarat-category applicants or to a future cohort. The university’s All India and Gujarat admission pages are separate; the relevant current notice controls. No 2027-28 fee is established by the sources reviewed for this page. Until it is published, treat the previous schedule as historical context, not an invoice or promise. A direct written response from the responsible admissions or finance office is the safest basis for a family’s final budget.
