GIM scholarships 2027–29: awards, eligibility and conditions
Goa Institute of Management lists several separate scholarships for its 2027–29 full-time programmes. The awards differ by programme, admission route, prior qualification and academic conditions, so a headline amount is not an automatic fee reduction. GIM says candidates must meet the terms for each award; some schemes are limited by an award count, and some payments are split across years. Confirm your exact course and eligibility with the institute before treating an award as part of your financing plan.
ACCESS awards for PGDM, BDA and BIFS
The Academic Competence and Excellence Scholarship Scheme (ACCESS) is presented separately for different programmes. The captured fee page lists up to 45 awards of ₹5 lakh for PGDM, up to 21 awards of ₹5 lakh for PGDM in Big Data Analytics (BDA), and up to seven awards of ₹5 lakh for PGDM in Banking, Insurance and Financial Services (BIFS). These are programme-specific limits stated by GIM, not a promise that every eligible student will receive an award.
For the flagship PGDM and BDA ACCESS awards, GIM says it invites applications from identified meritorious candidates. Eligibility is restricted to candidates offered admission through the Achiever’s Round with that programme as their first preference. The BIFS page describes a different eligibility basis: applicants must hold one of the listed professional qualifications, including CA, CS, CMA, CFA (US), ACCA, CIMA, CPA (US) or FRM (GARP), and have completed the qualification by registration. Do not assume the BIFS qualification route also means an Achiever’s Round requirement; read the scheme attached to your selected programme.
For the cited ACCESS awards, GIM states that the ₹5 lakh payment is split equally across the first and second years. Release of the second instalment depends on academic performance, including a CGPA of 5.6 or above, and conduct. The terms say the institute may stop the second instalment if performance or conduct is unsatisfactory. The page also says a student can receive only one financial benefit; for the listed ACCESS awards, a tuition-fee waiver leads to withdrawal of the ACCESS award. Budget against the conditions, not only the total amount.
HCM scholarship for MBBS graduates
The GIM-MBBS Scholarship (GMS) is for candidates with an MBBS degree who are admitted to PGDM in Healthcare Management (HCM). GIM lists up to seven awards, each worth ₹5 lakh, and says the MBBS degree must be from a recognised university or college in India with a high score or class. The page expressly excludes candidates admitted to the other full-time programmes named there, including PGDM, BDA and BIFS.
GMS is split into two instalments, half in each year. GIM makes the second instalment conditional on first-year academic performance (CGPA of at least 5.6) and conduct. The page also states that a tuition-fee waiver cannot be combined with this scholarship. Because the source describes the academic condition and award scope specifically for HCM, applicants should not apply those terms to another course without confirmation.
Entrance-exam scholarship and tuition-fee waiver
GIM’s fee page lists an “ACCESS Scholarship for CAT/XAT 95+ Percentile” for candidates across all four full-time programmes, with a stated award of ₹5 lakh. This is a scholarship threshold, not an admission cutoff. The page calls it an entrance-exam topper scheme; it does not establish that 95 percentile guarantees admission, an interview or payment. Check the complete current terms with GIM because the headline does not, by itself, specify every selection or award condition.
The full tuition-fee waiver has a different basis. GIM says students from families with income below ₹8 lakh per year are eligible to be considered. Awards are based on assessment of financial need and total family income, and may cover the tuition fee in full. The institute caps awards at a maximum of 5% of admitted students, so meeting the income threshold is not a guarantee of a waiver. For the 2027–29 batch, GIM identifies the tuition-fee component as ₹14,16,000. That is the tuition component named in the waiver terms, not a statement that the entire programme cost is ₹14,16,000.
Application steps and questions to confirm
The GIM admissions FAQ directs applicants to the Fees and Financial Aid page for scholarship application information. The fee page says applications for some schemes are invited from identified meritorious candidates; it does not give one common scholarship application deadline for every award in the captured text. Ask the admissions or financial-aid office which scheme applies to your programme, whether an invitation or separate application is required, what proof of qualification or family income is accepted, and when documents are due.
Before accepting an award as part of your budget, confirm whether it is one-time or split, the academic conditions for later instalments, how it interacts with a tuition waiver or another benefit, and the number of awards available for your programme. For ACCESS, verify the first-preference and Achiever’s Round conditions; for BIFS, check that the named qualification is complete by registration; for GMS, confirm the MBBS recognition and HCM admission conditions. For a need-based waiver, ask how the institute assesses total family income and how the 5% cap is applied.
These terms are taken from GIM’s fee and financial-aid information captured for the 2027–29 batch. Scholarship amounts, counts and conditions can change. Recheck the official page and obtain written confirmation of the award before using it to decide whether you can finance the programme.
