IBS Hyderabad has separate admission routes for its MBA, BBA programmes and PhD. The MBA is the main postgraduate route at the Donthanapally campus: candidates apply with IBSAT 2026 or an accepted CAT, NMAT, XAT or GMAT score, then attend the campus selection process if shortlisted. The BBA route uses academic merit and a personal interview. Doctoral admission has a separate research-oriented selection process. Requirements and dates below come from the current IBS Hyderabad pages checked on 2 November 2026; the MBA page contains two different deadline descriptions, so applicants should verify the live registration portal before paying or planning around a final date.
MBA admission for the 2027–29 cohort
The two-year MBA accepts graduates from any discipline with at least 50% marks, with English as the medium of instruction, and at least 15 years of education on a 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 basis. Applicants whose undergraduate instruction was not in English must submit TOEFL, NELT or IELTS results by 31 May 2027, according to the programme page. Final-year bachelor's students may apply, but the page says they must complete all graduation requirements, including practicals, viva and assignments, by 31 May 2027. Admission remains provisional until marksheets and degree certificates establish eligibility; the listed last date for submitting graduation proof is 1 November 2027.
IBS Hyderabad lists IBSAT 2026, CAT, NMAT by GMAC, XAT and GMAT as accepted score routes. These are alternatives: the applicant uses an accepted score route rather than taking every exam. The university describes IBSAT as a computer-based aptitude test. A score makes a candidate eligible for the next stage, not automatically admitted; shortlisted candidates attend selection briefings and the selection process.
The official MBA page gives an application period from 1 July to the third week of December 2026 as tentative, while a nearby admission-calendar field gives the last date as the second week of December 2026. The calendar separately places IBSAT in December 2026, results in the first week of January 2027, selection briefings in January and the Hyderabad selection process in the second or third week of February 2027, with several dates marked tentative. Because the site's own deadline entries do not align, use the application portal's current closing date and confirmation email as authoritative for an individual application. Do not treat the later tentative end date as an extension.
At selection, IBS says qualified candidates attend micro-presentation and personal interview stages at IBS Hyderabad. Its calendar describes January briefings and a February 2027 process; the programme page says briefings are offered at more than 70 locations, while another official admissions page describes 50 cities. The number of briefing locations is therefore inconsistent across the institution's pages and is not needed to establish eligibility. Confirm the location and reporting instructions in the candidate-specific communication.
BBA admission and its three programme options
IBS Hyderabad lists the regular BBA, BBA in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and BBA in Cloud Computing and Cyber Security. The programme page describes a three- or four-year structure, with a four-year honours option and a three-year exit degree; an honours-with-research option is also described for students who meet the prescribed criteria. This is a distinct undergraduate route, not an MBA eligibility shortcut.
For the published 2027 intake, the BBA page requires Class XII or an equivalent examination with at least 60% aggregate marks in any discipline and English as the medium of instruction. The application page says selection is based on merit and a personal interview, with final selection based on the interview and past academic record. Its listed completed-application deadline is 7 April 2027, interviews are scheduled for 8–11 April, registration for 14–16 July, preparatory classes from 19 July and regular classes from 29 July 2027. Applicants should check the current BBA programme page for any later notice before submitting documents.
The application page provides online and offline methods; it says the online form is submitted with a photograph and an application charge. The admissions office asks applicants to use the BBA contact channel listed on the official page for queries. Keep copies of marksheets and any English-medium evidence because the programme-specific criteria, not the MBA route rules, govern BBA eligibility.
PhD admission in Management
The Hyderabad PhD page describes full-time and part-time doctoral study in Management. Its stated entry criteria include a bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks and English as the medium of instruction, together with either a full-time management postgraduate degree from a UGC-approved university with at least 55% marks in the listed specialisations, or a professional qualification such as CFA, CA, CWA or CS with at least 55%. It also specifies a minimum of 17 years of education on the stated 10+2+3+2 or 10+2+4+2 pattern.
The published selection comprises an entrance test covering Research Methods and domain-specific questions, a micro-presentation and an interview. UGC NET (Management) qualifiers are exempt from the entrance test; the page does not say that they skip the remaining selection stages. The current captured page's displayed July 2026 dates are already past, so they are not presented as an open cycle. Applicants should contact the doctoral admissions office for the next application window and current document deadlines.
Before you apply
Choose the programme first, then use its own eligibility and application route. For an MBA applicant, verify the exact score submission deadline and whether the test result is accepted for the Hyderabad campus. For BBA candidates, check the 60% and English-medium conditions and confirm the programme option selected on the application. Doctoral applicants should confirm whether the next call is full-time or part-time and whether their postgraduate specialisation or professional qualification meets the exact rule. Keep the application receipt and all score reports; an eligibility check or selection invitation is separate from an offer of admission.
