What the available admission rules cover
IIM Rohtak has distinct entry routes for its two-year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP, which leads to an MBA) and the five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). The latest official PGP policy reviewed here is the Batch 17, Session 2026-28 policy, based on CAT 2025. The official IPM Batch 08 prospectus is for Session 2026-31, based on IPM AT 2026. Both are specific earlier batches; their application dates and selection rules should not be treated as the next intake’s schedule. A 2027-29 PGP or 2027-32 IPM date, exam year, threshold or fee should be confirmed from a new official notice before applying.
This distinction matters because the PGP route starts after a bachelor’s degree and uses CAT, while IPM starts after Class XII and uses the institute’s aptitude test. The documents identify a separate Integrated Programme in Law (IPL) option alongside IPM AT; its extra legal-reasoning test component does not turn it into the PGP route. Applicants should begin with the correct programme notice, not a generic “IIM Rohtak cutoff” figure.
PGP: CAT registration floor is not an interview guarantee
For the 2026-28 PGP batch, IIM Rohtak’s policy sets minimum aggregate CAT 2025 percentile requirements to register: General 97, EWS 93, NC-OBC 83, SC 60 and ST 50. It also lists DAP thresholds separately: DAP-General 87, DAP-EWS 83, DAP-NC-OBC 73, DAP-SC 50 and DAP-ST 40. These are category-specific minimum eligibility figures for that batch, not a promise of an interview or an offer. The policy itself warns that meeting the minimum does not ensure shortlisting for the Personal Interview (PI).
For that closed batch, registration was tentatively scheduled from 26 December 2025 to 9 January 2026 at 11:59 PM, with a non-refundable registration charge of ₹3,095. The official FAQ adds a practical point: selecting IIM Rohtak in the CAT form did not replace the institute’s own registration form. Those dates and the charge are historical reference only. Do not pay against a recycled link or assume the same fee and window for a later batch; use the current institute admission portal linked from its live notice.
The admission policy says eligible applicants receive an email link to register for PI. It does not publish a guaranteed interview threshold in the same table as the minimum CAT registration percentiles. Treat unofficial predictions and “expected cutoff” posts as estimates, not as an institute-issued shortlist rule. If your CAT score is close to a listed floor, verify the category and DAP classification in the current policy before deciding whether you qualify.
PGP selection: a separate interview and a 60:20:20 merit formula
The 2026-28 policy describes five stages: online registration, PI for shortlisted applicants, preparation of a final selection list, provisional offers, and reporting. IIM Rohtak conducts its own PI; its official FAQ says it does not take PI scores from other IIMs. The final list for Batch 17 assigns 60% to CAT percentile, 20% to the PI score and 20% to academic and gender diversity. The stated weights sum to 100%, but the policy’s description of the diversity component does not mean an applicant can safely estimate a score from a third-party calculator. Follow the current batch’s policy for how its factors are defined and applied.
Offers for the closed batch were to be made by merit/rank and seat availability within the stated categories under Government of India reservation rules. The policy gave 264 total PGP seats for Batch 17. That is not a forecast for the next intake. A high CAT percentile alone therefore does not establish admission: the candidate also has to clear the institute’s PI stage, and the final ranking uses the other components stated for that batch. Conversely, the registration minimum should not be confused with the final merit threshold or a published closing percentile.
Shortlisted candidates were to receive PI call-letter details by email. Applicants should check the registered email account and official portal for the interview date, timing and instructions. Keep the CAT application details consistent with the IIM Rohtak application; the official FAQ says CAT-form details prevail in a mismatch. Do not rely on a generic interview calendar from another IIM.
IPM and IPL: entry after Class XII
The five-year IPM is a different route from the graduate PGP. In its Batch 08 (2026-31) prospectus, IIM Rohtak requires at least 60% in both Class X and XII for General, EWS and NC-OBC applicants, and 55% for SC, ST and DAP applicants. The prospectus also gives an upper age limit as of 30 June 2026: 20 years generally and 25 years for SC and ST candidates. These are the stated 2026 entry conditions, not confirmed rules for a later cohort.
The IPM AT 2026 prospectus describes three 40-question sections: Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability, with 120 minutes for the test. Each question carries four marks and each wrong answer loses one mark. The 2026 selection formula gives 55% to the aptitude-test score, 15% to PI, 10% to Class X results and 20% to Class XII results. Applicants should compare the syllabus and scoring against the next prospectus before preparing; the old structure is useful as a reference, not a guarantee of continuity.
The same prospectus describes an IPL option for candidates who also select the Integrated Programme in Law while registering for IPM AT. Those candidates also sit a 20-question legal-reasoning section with 20 minutes allotted. The prospectus’s IPM eligibility and test details should not be generalized to every law admission path unless the current IPL notice confirms them. In particular, do not mistake IPM AT for CAT or assume that a graduate applicant to PGP needs the IPM test.
For Batch 08, the prospectus listed a non-refundable ₹4,937 registration fee, tentative online application dates of 6 February to 6 April 2026, and an IPM AT date of 10 May 2026. Those dates have passed. The prospectus stated 198 seats for that batch, including 10% of total seats offered to EWS candidates. Its five-year award is an integrated BBA plus MBA, subject to programme completion rules: it states a minimum CGPA of 5.0 at the end of year three to continue into the final two years for the master’s degree; scores from 4.0 to below 5.0 lead to a BBA exit award, and a student may also voluntarily exit after year three under the stated procedure. Check the latest programme notice for current requirements and awards.
Verify the offer, payment and reporting instructions
For PGP Batch 17, the policy says provisional offers are sent from [email protected]; it warns that an offer from another email address is not official. Admission remains provisional until the institute completes the required formalities, including CAT-score validation, degree and marksheet checks, category-certificate verification where applicable, fee payment and on-site identity or document checks. The offer letter and confirmation letter specify the payment and reporting instructions. Use the official portal and the bank details shown there; do not transfer an offer-acceptance amount to a personal account or treat a message forwarded by an intermediary as an offer.
The policy’s 2026-28 refund rule allowed withdrawal before online programme registration. It states that amounts paid would be returned by bank transfer to the candidate’s own savings account after deducting a ₹1,000 processing fee, with automatic refunds within 150-180 days from programme registration. It says refund requests would be accepted only through the institute admission portal and would not be entertained after registration. The prospectus gives a separate 2026-31 IPM refund rule, also tied to withdrawal before registration and use of the official portal. Because refund terms and portal links can change, read the relevant current batch document before accepting an offer or withdrawing.
Before applying, identify whether you need the post-graduate PGP, the five-year IPM, or the law option. Then check the latest official notice for the batch, confirm category-specific eligibility, submit the institute form even if you selected the institution in another exam form, and save the submitted form, fee receipt and call letter. If an upcoming cycle has not yet published its own notice, wait for that source instead of applying historical thresholds or dates to it.
