IIT Hyderabad - Indian Institute of Technology (IITH) (IIT Hyderabad) in Telangana has historical cutoff records for JEE-Advanced, IIT-JAM, GATE, UCEED on this page. There is no single cutoff for the whole college: read each course, category, quota and round separately. Coverage below reflects the records on this page.
The latest recorded year is 2025. 15 records in that group cover 1 named category. Across the available years, 15 distinct course labels are recorded.

A cutoff is the opening or closing rank recorded for a particular programme and seat category in a particular counselling round. It is not a fixed admission threshold for all applicants. JoSAA’s current Opening and Closing Ranks page identifies the 2026 session as covering the 2026-27 academic year and requires the reader to select round, institute type, institute name, academic programme and seat type/category. The page’s rank note is especially important: open-seat ranks represent CRL; EWS, OBC-NCL, SC and ST ranks represent the respective category rank; PwD ranks are within the respective categories. A rank comparison that drops one of those labels can mislead an applicant.
The current JoSAA interface is set up to return the matching rows after those filters are selected. During this pass, the page itself was inspected, but no reproducible IIT Hyderabad programme/category result row was captured. This page therefore does not invent 2026 closing ranks or repeat legacy Overview values. Use the live official filter to obtain the exact number for your choices. The JoSAA 2026 OR-CR interface should be treated as the source for current-session rows; the OR-CR index separately links the 2026 results and a previous-years archive.
A closing rank is historical evidence about the last reported allotment in that row. It is not a guarantee for a later round, a future year, a different gender pool or a programme with a similar name. A candidate should compare only rows with the same institute, programme, category, round and rank type. If the result interface provides additional filters for quota or gender pool in the displayed dataset, retain those labels as well.
For a shortlist of possible choices, repeat the query for each programme and relevant category rather than searching for an institute-wide “IIT Hyderabad cutoff”. The institute-wide phrase can refer to many seat rows and is not a single number.
JoSAA’s official index links the current 2026 rank data and the previous-years opening and closing-rank archive. The archive is useful when planning before a new session publishes its allotment results, but a prior closing rank records only what happened in that exact year and row. It does not reserve a place for a candidate at that rank next year. Seat matrix, applicant choices, category, round and allocation outcomes all belong to the cycle-specific comparison.
A sound comparison table should have one row per programme and include: year/session, counselling round, institute, programme, seat type/category, gender pool if applicable, opening rank, closing rank, rank convention, and the official source link. Keep ranks numerically labelled, not just copied into a spreadsheet without context. For example, an open-seat CRL and an OBC-NCL category rank are different measures and cannot be treated as one continuous scale. Likewise, round 1 closing rank and a later-round closing rank answer different questions.
If you are using data from an aggregator, use it only to locate a possible row. Confirm the value in JoSAA’s official interface or archive before relying on it. The public Overview page may contain older cutoff summaries, but this guide does not republish any number without a matching official programme, year, round and category row. When the official filter does not produce the row you need, record that limitation and use the official archive or JoSAA helpdesk rather than infer an adjacent programme’s value.
The 2027-28 publication edition is a planning guide, not evidence that JoSAA has announced a 2027-28 result. The inspected interface identifies 2026-27 as the current counselling academic year. Therefore, use 2026 or earlier rows only as dated context while waiting for the next official session. Do not call a historical closing rank the “2027-28 cutoff”, and do not infer that a calendar-year change automatically starts a new counselling cycle.
Before filling choices, confirm your JEE Advanced result and eligibility under the rules for that year, then use the current JoSAA schedule, seat matrix, business rules and choice-filling portal. Cutoff analysis can help prioritise options, but it should not replace a thoughtful choice order: list programmes you would actually accept, understand the seat category and rank basis that applies to you, and review the official allotment and acceptance instructions. A prior-year number cannot tell you whether to omit a preferred programme or whether a later round will reach a particular rank.
The most useful next action is to open JoSAA’s current OR-CR page and run the exact filter combination for each IITH programme you are considering. Save the session, round, programme, seat type and rank labels together with the result. Recheck the official page when the next counselling year begins; any future rank numbers must be linked to that cycle’s actual result rows.
