What IMI publishes for the 2027-29 intake
The current IMI Delhi admissions portal names two scholarships: the IMI Academic Excellence Scholarship and the IMI Professional Impact Scholarship. Its FAQ gives the names but does not set out award criteria, renewal rules or an application form. A separate PGDM (HRM) admissions page, headed for the 2027-2029 intake, lists maximum awards: up to eight students may receive a 100% tuition-fee scholarship and up to 15 a 50% tuition-fee scholarship under Academic Excellence; the Professional Impact caps are four and six students at those respective levels.
These are stated as maximums and as awards that may be made, not a promise that every listed place will be funded. The detailed counts appear on the HRM page. The main portal lists PGDM, PGDM (HRM) and PGDM (B&FS), but the source does not say whether those numerical caps are institute-wide or specific to HRM. Ask the admissions team to confirm the programme and batch coverage before using the figures in a budget.
The award titles are not eligibility rules. The pages reviewed do not explain what “academic excellence” or “professional impact” means in scoring terms, whether each award considers a separate application, or how applicants are ranked. They also do not state the minimum marks, work-experience threshold, interview stage, number of renewal years, continuation conditions, required certificates or whether a candidate can receive more than one award. Do not assume that a strong admission score, a particular undergraduate percentage or a work history automatically qualifies someone.
The current application page identifies the programme intake as 2027-29. Its admission timeline shows applications open in September 2026, the current application deadline as 19 December 2026, interviews in January 2027, decisions in February and the programme beginning in July 2027. That is the programme application schedule, not a separately stated scholarship deadline. The official pages do not say whether scholarship consideration is automatic after admission or requires another form, so submit the programme application on time and ask whether any aid document or scholarship form has an earlier closing date.
Separate the tuition waiver from the named awards
The same admissions FAQ also explains the AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver scheme. It describes a limit of up to 5% of seats, annual parental income below ₹8 lakh and payment of non-tuition fees by eligible students. However, the explanation refers to admission through a state central-admission process and does not explain how that route applies to IMI Delhi's PGDM admissions. The current page does not provide a batch-specific IMI notice resolving that point. Treat TFW as a question to verify with IMI, not as a confirmed third award or a guaranteed route for this intake. The institute's separate tuition-waiver page could not be opened during this check.
The named Academic Excellence and Professional Impact awards are described as tuition-fee scholarships. A tuition percentage is not the same as the same percentage off the full programme bill. It does not establish a reduction in learning materials, student charges, deposits, hostel or mess costs. Nor do the available pages say whether “100%” or “50%” applies for one term, one academic year or the full two-year programme. Without the relevant programme's tuition component and award duration, a reliable rupee saving cannot be calculated.
Confirm the award before estimating your net cost
Before relying on aid, email the admissions office through the current IMI Delhi application portal and request the written 2027-29 scholarship notice for the exact programme. Ask for: the academic and professional-impact eligibility tests; award numbers by programme; whether the stated caps apply to the full batch or a programme; the amount and period covered; how candidates are selected; any form, interview or supporting documents; the decision date; renewal or continuation conditions; and whether the awards can be combined with one another or with another fee waiver.
Request an itemised fee schedule at the same time. It should separate tuition from each mandatory and one-time charge, state the installment dates, and show what happens to any deposit or non-tuition component if an award is granted. Ask for the award decision and the remaining payable amount before accepting an offer or arranging a loan. The programme fee headline alone is not enough to calculate a tuition-only scholarship.
A practical comparison is to record each written answer by programme, cohort, award name and academic year. Then calculate only the confirmed tuition reduction for the stated coverage period, and add the charges the award does not cover. If IMI confirms that a separate TFW route applies, ask which admission authority handles it, which income certificate format and financial year are accepted, what deadline applies, and whether the rules differ from the FAQ's general explanation. Until these terms are confirmed in a current notice or offer, treat the award count as a possible ceiling and the net price as unknown.
