For experienced professionals, the one-year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) is the closer fit. ISB lists it as a 12-month, full-time residential programme at Hyderabad and Mohali, and its current eligibility summary requires at least 24 months of work experience. The 2027–28 programme fee below is the published figure for this PGP cycle. Admission is unified across the two campuses, so the fee and programme route should not be treated as a separate Hyderabad-only degree or intake. Applicants choosing Hyderabad should verify the campus preference and allocation instructions in the application portal.
For recent graduates and applicants with up to two years of experience, the Post Graduate Programme in Management for Young Leaders (PGP YL) is the relevant comparison. The current course page describes it as a 20-month, full-time residential programme for people with 0–2 years of work experience, located at the Hyderabad campus. Its published fee is for the Class of 2027–29. This is a longer course with a different entry audience, so comparing only the total headline fees does not show a like-for-like annual cost or outcome.
The PGP page places its experience test at 24 months or more as of 31 March. The PGP YL page gives a 0–2-year range. Use the applicable programme’s detailed eligibility page and live application form to check how experience is counted for your intake; do not assume that one route’s rule transfers to the other. The current PGP cycle is the Class of 2028, while PGP YL is the Class of 2027–29. These labels refer to different programme calendars.

ISB lists the PGP programme fee as ₹34,48,000 plus GST for shared accommodation and a single-instalment payment. The page says this amount covers admission, commitment and tuition fees. It separately lists a refundable security deposit of ₹20,000. Treat the deposit as money held against possible dues, not as tuition and not as a discount against the published fee.
The quoted accommodation and payment basis matters. The amount is specifically for shared accommodation and payment in one instalment; it is not a published quote for every room arrangement or an instalment schedule. The page does not state the GST amount in the fee line, so an applicant should request the current tax-inclusive payable figure and confirm when the deposit is collected and returned. Do not add a guessed GST percentage or treat ₹34,48,000 as the final cash outlay.
ISB calls this fee indicative and says it may be revised as programme requirements evolve. The amount is therefore a planning reference, not a price guarantee. Confirm the latest 2027–28 figure with the official PGP fee page or a programme adviser before accepting an offer or arranging a loan. The PGP route is one year; the shared-accommodation line is not evidence of an optional single-room price.
The PGP fee page describes scholarships and financial support separately from the programme price. Financial support is selective and eligibility-dependent. An applicant should budget from the published fee before an award is confirmed, then check the scholarship category, application steps, award conditions and disbursement timing directly with ISB. The headline fee should not be reduced by an assumed scholarship, a bank loan or a future tax benefit.
Check the official PGP fee page before payment.
For PGP YL, ISB lists ₹25,60,000 plus GST for shared accommodation and a single-instalment payment for the academic year 2027–29. The stated inclusions are admission, tuition, commitment and course material. The fee page separately names a refundable security deposit of ₹20,000 and miscellaneous expenses. It does not give a fixed amount for those miscellaneous costs, so the listed programme fee is not a complete all-in budget.
The PGP YL page says the fee is indicative and subject to change. Confirm the current amount, applicable GST, accommodation basis, deposit treatment and payment schedule with ISB before committing funds. The page’s single-instalment quote does not establish that other payment schedules carry the same total. Ask for a written calculation of the amount due at each payment stage if you are comparing a loan or instalment plan.
The listed PGP fee is ₹8,88,000 higher than the listed PGP YL programme fee before GST (₹34,48,000 minus ₹25,60,000). This arithmetic compares the two published fee lines only. It is not a cost-per-month comparison: the PGP is a 12-month programme for experienced professionals, whereas PGP YL runs for 20 months and serves an earlier-career cohort. The pages also provide different cycle labels and do not establish a common all-in total after taxes and miscellaneous expenses.
PGP YL describes scholarships, flexible payment options and bank-loan support, but these should be assessed separately from the standard fee. Availability of financial assistance is not a guaranteed reduction for every admitted student. Do not carry forward an older cohort’s scholarship award list or amounts as a promise for the 2027–29 class unless the current scholarship terms say so.
Check the official PGP YL fee page before payment.
Before comparing offers or arranging financing, use this sequence:
The PGP fee page reports financial support through nine scholarship categories and states that support reaches 25% of PGP students each year. That is a school-reported programme-level figure, not a probability for an individual applicant or a guaranteed award. PGP YL also describes scholarships and financial access options, but applicants should use the current cohort’s award terms rather than assume that PGP categories or amounts apply to PGP YL. In both cases, plan against the published fee until a specific award is confirmed in writing.
Decision check: If you have at least two years of professional experience and want a one-year residential route, compare your fit with PGP and its 2027–28 cost basis. If you are at the start of your career and fit the stated 0–2-year range, compare PGP YL and the 2027–29 cost basis. If either the eligibility cutoff or fee treatment is unclear for your personal case, use the current programme admissions and fee pages before submitting or paying.
