MNIT Jaipur’s route depends on the programme. B.Tech. and B.Arch. applicants use JEE (Main) and JoSAA/CSAB; M.Tech. and M.Plan. applicants generally use CCMT, with institute selection for specified sponsored and part-time categories; M.Sc. applicants use CCMN after IIT JAM; MBA and Ph.D. applicants follow institute notices. As of 1 November 2026, the official pages reviewed publish 2026-cycle information, not a 2027–28 admission calendar. No 2027–28 deadline or final eligibility notice was found. Use the dated rules below to prepare, then verify the new cycle’s notices before applying.
B.Tech. and B.Arch.: JEE (Main), JoSAA and CSAB
MNIT directs B.Tech. and B.Arch. applicants to JoSAA and CSAB. JoSAA 2026 allocated NIT+ System seats using JEE (Main) 2026 rank; CSAB Special Rounds followed JoSAA to fill remaining seats. Qualifying the examination is not sufficient by itself: a candidate must meet Class XII and programme-specific requirements, obtain an allotment, complete verification and pay within the applicable timelines. There is no management quota, NRI quota or lateral entry into MNIT’s B.Tech./B.Arch. programmes, according to the institute FAQ. The FAQ also says branch change/internal sliding is not available after first-year admission.
The 2026 CSAB rules required candidates to have first appeared for Class XII in 2024, 2025 or 2026 and to meet one of two conditions: at least 75% aggregate across five subjects (65% for SC, ST and PwD candidates), or the category-wise top-20-percentile threshold for their board. These are 2026 rules, not a promise of the 2027 criterion. For B.E./B.Tech., the five subjects used in the calculation were Physics, Mathematics, one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational, a language and one other subject; candidates had to pass each required subject. For B.Arch., the set included Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics plus two other subjects. The same brochure describes improvement-exam and board-specific cases, including rules for which year’s scores count. Candidates with a non-standard result should check the current brochure rather than rely on the headline percentage alone.
The NIT+ Home State pool is determined by the state where the candidate first appeared for Class XII, not their home address. Since MNIT is in Rajasthan, this state code affects whether a candidate is considered against the Home State or Other States pool. Category and PwD claims also require valid documents in the prescribed format; document verification can affect the category used for allotment.
For JoSAA, review the current business rules, MNIT seat matrix and programme restrictions before filling and locking choices. If seats remain after JoSAA, CSAB Special Rounds require fresh registration and fresh choices; JoSAA choices do not transfer. The 2026 CSAB rules also warned candidates with an already secured JoSAA seat that accepting a new CSAB allocation can cancel the earlier seat. Read the applicable round’s freeze/float/slide/surrender/withdraw options before selecting one. A missed payment, document query or reporting step can cost the allotment.
M.Tech. and M.Plan.: CCMT or institute selection
For regular full-time M.Tech. and M.Plan. admission, MNIT directs applicants to CCMT. CCMT 2026 accepted GATE scores from 2024, 2025 or 2026. Its institute, department and programme mapping controls which choices are available after registration, so check the qualifying degree and GATE paper for the exact specialisation rather than assuming a valid GATE score makes every programme accessible.
MNIT’s PG Rules 2024 distinguish full-time assistantship admission through CCMT from sponsored, part-time and self-financed routes. The institute manual states baseline qualifying-degree marks of 60% or equivalent for General/OBC/EWS and 55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Departments may set additional conditions and decide whether the previous discipline is relevant. For sponsored and part-time routes, the manual specifies employment and experience conditions; sponsored applicants need employer documentation, and sponsored candidates must have more than two years’ total experience and at least one year with the sponsoring organisation. The exact notice may impose further programme-specific conditions. Applicants should download that cycle’s MNIT notification and confirm whether their intended route is assistantship, sponsored, part-time or self-financed before applying.
M.Sc., MBA and Ph.D.
MNIT lists M.Sc. programmes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics through CCMN on the basis of IIT JAM. The institute’s PG Rules 2024 specify a relevant B.Sc. or B.Sc. (Hons.) and the same stated minimum marks threshold; CCMN’s current brochure and programme mapping determine cycle-specific eligibility and choice availability.
MBA admission is institute-led, through an open advertisement and selection process. Under the 2024 PG Rules, applicants need a bachelor’s degree meeting the specified minimum marks and a valid national management admission test score prescribed by the institute. The rules also describe an Executive MBA route for working professionals or eligible start-up promoters, with at least two years of work experience or a start-up registered for at least two years. MNIT’s FAQ gives January/February as the usual MBA advertisement period, but no 2027 advertisement or deadline was located. Check the Department of Management Studies notice for the accepted test, weightage, interview or other selection stages and dates.
Ph.D. admission is through institute selection. The MNIT admission page describes two usual notification windows, around April/May and November, for admissions around June and December; the 2024 PG Rules say Ph.D. admission may occur in either or both regular semesters. These are recurring patterns rather than 2027 dates. The applicable department notice sets the written test/interview requirements and category conditions. Sponsored, part-time and international applicants should check their specific route in the regulations and notice.
What to do before the next deadline
There is no verified 2027–28 application deadline to act on yet. Use this preparation sequence:
- Choose the route: JEE (Main) for B.Tech./B.Arch.; GATE and CCMT for regular M.Tech./M.Plan.; JAM and CCMN for M.Sc.; MNIT notices for MBA, sponsored/part-time PG and Ph.D. selection.
- Check detailed eligibility: compare your qualifying subjects, marks, category and relevant degree against the next-cycle brochure and MNIT programme mapping. For a sponsored or part-time application, confirm the required service and employer conditions early.
- Prepare documents: for UG, the 2026 CSAB list included date-of-birth proof, Class XII marksheet/certificate, JEE admit card, applicable category/PwD certificates, bank-account proof for refunds and a prescribed medical certificate. Have originals and any required translated versions ready. The 2027 notice may change formats or certificate dates.
- Watch the right portal: follow MNIT’s admissions page, JoSAA, CSAB, CCMT or the relevant CCMN/MNIT department page. Register only during the dates announced for your cycle and keep checking the candidate portal for document queries and payment status.
- Before accepting a seat: verify the fee and refund terms with MNIT, understand whether a later-round choice can replace or cancel an existing allotment, and complete both online reporting and institute-level reporting as directed.
The 2026 CSAB schedule and CCMT 2026 reporting dates have passed; they are useful only as evidence of process, not as next-cycle deadlines. MNIT lists the CSAB counselling helpdesk at 0141-2715082 and [email protected] on its admissions page. Confirm that the contact is still current when 2027 notices are issued.
